Davide Santon (now retired)

Recommended Posts

I like how the quotes (His knee looked a bit unhealthy, sending him for a scan etc.) are in complete contrast to the doomsday attitude of most of our fans

Aye ok. Bet you'r bricking it really though ;)

so thats why Inter Milan sold 'the new Maldini'

Because he might get injured in training. Aye that'll be the one like

Yeah I reckon it is actually:

Latest quotes from Alan Pardew, Thursday concerning our latest addition, Davide Santon:

"Unfortunately Davide has hurt his knee in training and been sent for a scan. It is an injury he has had before, we think it is a cartilage problem.

"We thought it was best to send him for a scan."

If this is his right knee, that's the one Santon damaged whilst on international duty with Italy's U21 side back in November 2009 that required surgery.

Making a comeback the following January, Santon reported further pain from the same knee and went under the knife again in April, returning to action the following season.

Two operations on the same knee and its still fucked. Seems very likely hes a crock.

We only have what Pardew said, sounds precautionary. Don't let that get in the way of a good knee-jerk reaction though lads.

Yeah, not usual for Pardew to initially play down the injuries and then reveal the truth.

Alright mate you're right, he's going to be our for f***ing months. Better?

Not really.

If we're "knee-jerking", then we're only knee-jerking at our luck.... not at Pardew or the player, because it would be unlikely that this is their fault. (Well, except for not having a good LB back-up. In truth, we needed 2 LBs when Enrique left.)

True, I just think it's premature to be talking about months on the sidelines when we know zip about the injury.
