Davide Santon (now retired)

It was not a game where defenders shone, but Italian international Santon - making his second appearance in black and white - put in an eye-catching performance. He came close to scoring on three occasions as he broke forward from left-back and most importantly, came through 90 minutes after having fluid drained from his knee earlier this month.

Won 5-3 in the end.

Did he play full 90 mins? If he did good run out for him, fingers crossed no reaction to his knee

Yep he did. Did well according to the official site.

Good to hear

Hopefully, we'll see him in action at some point on Saturday.

Watched the highlights on NUFCTV.  Looked class going forward, none of their attacks seemed to come down his side on the video though.  Beardsley waxing lyrical about him again, plays like Maldini, really confident, two footed, gets forward well but good at defending as well etc.  Also agreed with the interviewer about him being able to get out of tight areas with the ball and how composed he is.  Sounds really promising, need him to start against Spurs, got the pace to deal with Lennon.

This was a huge part of Enrique's game IMO so it's good to hear.

Seriously though, too much positivity going round at the moment. What's going to go wrong?

Don't worry, the usual characters are still lingering with their negativity. No prizes for guessing who.
