MP's moaning about companies abiding by the rules MP's make and pass by law.

Amazes me how they all do it, Labour moaning about it when they passed the laws in the first place or didn't do anything about them when in power. Tories doing exactly the same.

Tell you what MP's why dont you just f*** off and actually pass a law that helps us, and not let it continue to happen you bunch of useless arsewipes.

Mp's moaning about companys robbing vulnerable people.... amusing, my fucking tax code is like one of Wonga's Sliders.

Its ok for them fuckers to rob us blind every month though and spunk the money on a duck pond or a fifth house.

The sponsor of the entire league is an interesting one, considering the current state of the economy in this country.

Or maybe even a certain rate fixing scandal unearthed earlier this year, surely the morality of that should be under greater scrutiny?

But the MPs that are currently pissing on your cornflakes are the ones who are trying to do just that and get laws passed to prevent this type of thing, being stopped by the ones who are avoiding your abuse by trying to keep a low profile and keeping quiet.

Hm. Having been privy to the dark underbelly of a fair few companies, I don't think most companies are in any position to be throwing stones. Even harmless companies who you wouldn't expect to be exploitative can be fairly sinister.

Aye, i had a mad rant about this earlier. Its not even as if its a Tory/Labour/Lib thing, its all the feckers doing it.

Whether what Wonga do is morally wrong or not, they are as it stands abiding by the law, and to hear a MP who makes those laws complain about it just pisses me off.

Also if i see that Yvette Cooper in my TV again i'm going to punch the fucking thing. Its most sour faced turdle i've ever seen. Seriously needs a cock up her arse or to fall in a well.

I love how everyones moral compass is pointing north east.

I may be a little biased..... but to be honest, like I said, I don't agree with what they do but it's a tad hypocritical to castigate Wonga and as such our deal with them, when the likes of rate fixing scandals, fossil fuel pariahs and alcohol providers are gracing the billboards and shirts of the game already?

These APR rates being banded about are utterly irrelevant as they don't lend money over a year, if you were to borrow 100 from them, in a weeks time you would need to pay back 110, that's equivalent of 14,000% APR, but you would never pay that interest because it is a short term loan.

How is the APR irrelevant?  Somebody under 25 gets £56.25 a week and would have to pay almost 20% of his/her weekly benefit in interest alone using the figures you use.

Wigan, West Ham, Stoke all sponsored by Gambling website, as were Sunderland till last year, now sponsored by an Oil company via something dressed up social responsibility programme, Villa sponsored by a casino chain, Everton by beer, and Liverpool by alleged money launderers.

Most MP's are totally self centred and don't give a shit about anybody.

Only Lambyarse and Mashley could dream this shit up.

Serioulsy getting sponsorship money from a company that rips off poor people and people who are facing hard choices about putting food on the table of paying an electric bill.

It's wrong whichever way you reletavise it.

Because APR denotes the % paid over a year. Like I said, I don't agree with the way they run their business, but it's these APR rates that are being branded around like a stick to beat with.

And also to just be a little pedantic, why would someone who only earns £56.25 a week take out a £100 loan with a view to paying it back in a week when their income doesn't cover that?

Exactly, APR isn't really relevant on a short term loan. Not that i condone who they target mind.

People have needs, no matter how much they get paid.

It's not irrelevant but it's a pretty misleading way to compare them to other lenders, because it's the representative rate as extended over a year. Which payday lenders don't do.

Saw an analogy elsewhere that said if you borrowed £20 from a mate and paid them it back a week later and also bought them a pint for £3.50 to say thanks, you probably wouldn't think anything of it. But calculated as an APR it would be horrendous. According to their website Wonga would charge you £7.26 for the same example, so maybe two pints.
