The Prophet
I'd stick Ben Arfa on the left and Best up front for this one, I'd imagine Pardew will stick Sammy on the left though.
Sifu
We'll win this 2-1 I reckons. We have every chance of beating Chelsea (and anyone) at St. James'.
Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
Aye, 2-1 for me as well. 1-0 Ba, 1-1 Sturridge, 2-1 Cabaye.
Jayson
I remember everyone being confident we'd destroy wigan & beat blackburn in the cup fairly easily also, expectation never seems to go brilliantly. We're capable of winning this, but i dont expect it tbh. Itd take us being fully on top of our game.

eliassenfredrik
------------------Krul Simpson - Colo - Saylor - Santon -------------------Tiote Obertan - Cabaye - Guthrie ---------------------------HBA ------------------Ba At least if I'd managed the team. Guthrie doesn't deserve to be dropped, and Tiote has to play. A 3 man strong midfield could cope nicely with whatever Chelsea will unleash. Ryan Taylor has to be dropped, was genuinely shocked he played vs Man Utd (even for Pardew it seemed strange). Also, I don't really want Jonas to start, due to his latest appearances. He's been woeful and would've fully deserved to be dropped. Thing is, Marveaux is out, and I don't think Sammy is good to go for the full 90 mins yet. Impact sub 2nd half. I could see another formation, dropping Guthrie for Best, or dropping Jonas for Best, and shift HBA to the left, but it won't happen. Pardew's team will only see 1 change, Guthrie out, Tiote in. Which is fine. I just think players who are not absolute nailed on starters, should really convince the manager to keep they're place in the team for the next week, and so on. If they fail to do that, they should face the consequenses and get replaced. Competition ffs. Ah well, guess we haven't been raped yet. EDIT: Problem solved. I had 12 players in the team. Skirge
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has denied John Terry got himself deliberately booked against Wolves, meaning he misses the Carling Cup clash with Liverpool rather than a crucial Premier League game. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3963290/Chelsea-news-Andre-Villas-Boas-denies-John-Terry-card-con.html

The Prophet
Although Chelsea have been no where near top form, they're still a very good side. If we play very well or they're particularly crap I see no reason we can't nick a win but I'd take a point if it was offered to me right now.
Christmas Tree
Bearing in mind yesterdays sad news and the battling performances against the two Manchesters, I would guess the Sports Direct Arena protests are going to be muted. As well as due respects to Gary, I do hope the three lions St James park ditty still gets a decent outing.

Ryan_Taylor
Feel daft thinking we'll win for some reason. But I'm feeling a 2-1 and maybe a Ben Arfa goal
The Prophet
Also the games we've struggled in most this season have been sides that have played a three man midfield. Mikel, Ramires and Lampard have more than enough quality to cause us all kinds of problems. Having Tiote back could be a big help.
Sifu
Feel daft thinking we'll win for some reason. But I'm feeling a 2-1 and maybe a Ben Arfa goal It's going to be a close game and I think we'll have just about enough to nick a win.
Wilson
thought of not having jonas and possibly tiote makes me a bit less confident about this one
gbandit
This game's got a Steven Taylor goal written all over it. 3-2 to the lads. Ramires is looking quality for them and I think Meireles is improving. Sturridge is a worry but I think our midfield can match theirs no problem. Can see it being a really open game
AyeDubbleYoo
Jonas missing is a real shame, no sure how we'll set up the team now or how we'll protect Ryan Taylor enough. Tiote missing as well and we're looking at a real struggle to take points.
Sifu
Still think Tiote will make the game (though I did say this about the Man U game too.....).

Tiresias
For crazy talk, Santon in for Jonas straight swap, not a terrible way to start to bring him in to the squad if Pardew isn't going to change the backline
