Especially if it's not consistently used by refs when the punishment means your are out for the rest of the match and also the following game, referees have to really assess whether a yellow card is worthy of the crime. sin bins really do need to come in. also punishement for reds - should only be a 3 match ban if its a completely reckless/malicious foul. was bruno's foul worthy of a 3 match ban???? It was a potential ankle breaker so yes. A sin bin for getting in refs face etc does seem like it could have a place.

If a situation is worth cheating over and 'taking a yellow for the team', it's worth sending the cheat off for 10 minutes as well.

Not sure if he's right, seems so with Lemina and Diaz, although Lemina's seemed awfully harsh. But if you know the new laws, don't run 20, 30 yards to get at the ref. Lemina seems to stop way short of the ref, yes he approached the ref, but he's not even looking in his direction. I think it's the lack of consistency with stuff like this though, players approach the ref in just about every game. Maybe they could have a rule like in rugby where the captain is allowed to approach the ref and discuss his decision, without him being crowded out by all players. Something does have to be done about the whole swarming the ref as it really is out of control at the moment.
Pilko
The solution is to have referees that aren't egotistical, useless cunts who have absolutely no zero responsibility and never have to front up to the millions of fans and viewers about their constant cack-handed decision making. Howard Webb at least seems to be trying to sort out the current mess because when Old Mother Riley was in charge it seemed to be fingers in the ears and not listening, ride out the storm and carry on being shit as usual lads. Skeletor
Lee Mason has been "reprimanded" twice this season already. Got to be grounds for dismissal surely?

Dembacha
In a world where a club can't sack a player for clearly assaulting his girlfriend, sacking a ref for incompetence just seems a bit off

midds
Good. He's incompetent. Utter travesty on the pitch and somehow, unbelievably, even shitter in a room full of state of the art technology, zero crowd pressure and enough time and camera angles to ensure the right result is achieved. HaydnNUFC
Amazed they've taken action like. Bald cunt robbed us of a perfectly good goal at home to Palace. Could end up costing us a CL spot due to those (potentially) lost 2 points.

Pilko
Fair fucks to Howard Webb for actually doing something and taking some form of action with consequence. Hopefully the threat of being potted for being shit will get some of the useless twats to buck their ideas up.

gbandit
Good to see, hopefully leads to some proper change in officiating standards. VAR needs this sort of decisive action now otherwise it has no future
RodneyCisse
I think it puts a good amount of pressure on the refs currently in a job that you can’t get things so badly wrong more than once. If I sent money to a incorrect account in my job for example I can guarantee I wouldn’t even get a second chance.
gbandit
Can’t see that that’s a bad thing in all honesty. If there’s no accountability for significant errors then what’s the point? Could essentially amount to corruption otherwise. If the quality of refs on VAR isn’t good enough it needs scrapping until AI can do their job for them regarding offsides etc
Likelylad
Lee Mason was a horrific ref and the fact he moved to VAR and was just as woeful, should speak volumes about his capabilities. Good riddance I say.
