HATEM Ben Arfa’s unlikely to play in Newcastle United’s games on the Algarve.

The forward is yet to meet up with his team-mates after being given an extended break following his involvement in France’s Euro 2012 campaign.

Ben Arfa will instead link up with his colleagues in Portugal.

Manager Alan Pardew and his players flew to Faro this morning ahead of tomorrow night’s game against Olympiakos.

While Ben Arfa’s countryman Yohan Cabaye was back on Tyneside for training this week, Ben Arfa has been given permission to fly directly to Portugal, where United also have a game against Braga on Saturday night.

As Ben Arfa hasn’t trained ahead of the games, the 25-year-old will most likely be held back until Newcastle’s next game, the trip to Holland to face Den Haag on August 4.

He will not be selected until Deschamps will be sacked of French team.

So no international duties until at least 2014.

that there's much more to the disharmony there than meets the eye. A player, won't say who, has allegedly been getting bullied by senior players because of his, erm, private life. Two or thee players have taken his side, most haven't, then it all kicked off once they were in Poland and Ukraine.

Could be bollocks, mind. I've also heard ther's a bit of Dutch-like heat in the squad and that the players of African heritage, particularly North African heritage, are marginalised by the French-born proper Frenchies.

Either tale being true would be pretty sad, in my opinion.

French camp sounds awful and Ben Arfa should be glad to be out of it for a while if he's really being pushed out by Deschamps

Jesus. I'm assuming the "private life" thing is referencing to homosexuality. Good to see that at least some players have taken their side, whoever it is. Hatem and Yohan are too good for that place.

Hatem and Yohan were the two who stood up for him/them. :snod:

Debuchy later dumped Giroud after Arsene Palpatine tempted him to the dark side. :huff:
