NUFC transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

I believe FC Twente has an option in Douglas' contract to extend for one more year, and Douglas himself does not want to leave before August when he will be eligible to play for Holland having lived in the country for 5 years consecutively, so this is a no-goer until that time, and it won't be on a free if it does happen.

So it's alot more complicated than the article suggests. Great work from Ryder again.

You'd think the press would do some work and find out about shit like this. Fucking useless.

Does he have to sit citizenship tests like Kalou tried to do?

Don't think so. He's already been awarded citizenship (Dutch passport), but needs to fulfill a UEFA/FIFA requirement of living 5 years consecutively in the same country in order to be eligible to play for our national team.

Edit: just checked. He has already passed the citizenship tests.

According to my sources several English clubs may be in for Shaqir. It seems that Mike Ashley is pleased with the impact the likes of Ba have had believes that Shaqiri could take them to the next level. However this depends on the price and Ashley does not wish to bid more than 12m but Pardew could convince him to bid as high as 15m.
