Hanshithispantz
Would still be p*ssed off if one of our players said that though. We are a huge step up from West Brom, and Tottenham certainly are, but there fans wont want to hear it. Huge step? We were relegated with them, came from the Championship with them, and finished below them last season. Without the sale of Caroll, it is not even certain if we are in better financial position to attract players. we surpass them in pretty much every way

Guest Shaun
Maybe he has a release clause? Can't see us paying £8 Million for him. Nor should we..... he's worth 4-5m at most. Don't agree. He's potentially better than Tiote and we rate him at £20m+.

Guest Phil K
Harsh comments. He seems like a massive bellend like. My thoughts too. Not worth 2-3 mill. Seems like it's HIM trying to drum up interest.
Mole_Toonfan
In what possible world is Mulumbu potentially better than Tiote. Every time we've played West Brom he's made Tiote look average. In same Mulumbu that got absolutely destroyed time and time again in the 3-1 this season? and the same Tiote that has bossed some of the best midfields in the league? I'll have what your drinking please Mulumbu is an average midtable b2b mid his types are littered all over France and they would'nt cost the silly money West Brom want.... Now if you wanted to pay 12 million for Dembele id understand it but for Mulumbu? no chance.

Jayson
Our best chances in that game bar the goals came from Vuckic finding space as an attacking midfielder & firing off shots. Had a beauty come off the bar.

This is what Alan Pardew told Sky Sports after the game: “We tried to work down the sides of Youssouf Mulumbu because he protects the center of the pitch really well and that worked well for us.” He was one of their best players that game too. You are basing your statement "Mulumbu potentially better than Tioté" on 76 minutes of football between Newcastle - West Brom?

It's hard to compare two DMs when they're playing each other because they're busy at each half of the pitch. It's not much Tiote vs Mulumbu, but Cabaye vs Mulumbu. That we played down the flanks to avoid Mulumbu indicated that he's a good DM, but not that he's superior to Tiote.

No all it says is Pardew came up with a game plan to make him look shat and it worked..... a DM whose job to protect the defence and he failed miserably that game..... How many times did we get at thier defence that game? even if you ignore the goals completely? like 10 probably. No matter what you say no sane individual can make a case for Mulumbu being better than Tiote ffs
