Al Moody
But given the pick of us, Everton and another unknown PL team.. Surely he's go to Everton where Martinez will already have a relationship with him?
AyeDubbleYoo
The Martinez thing is what gives Everton the edge, yep. As well as the non-JFK factor obviously.

KaKa
I would typically expect Whelan to be a jerk when it comes t dealing with us, but considering we just sold Perch to them, we might be in with a chance. I actually wonder if Perch was used to make up part of the payment.

WE'VE SIGNED KONE!!
Pilko
Kone for £5m would be an excellent signing. He'll be off to Everton though IMO.
AyeDubbleYoo
The biggest snag is if Kone himself would rather join Martinez again at Everton. Saying that, his experience with Martinez was mainly getting beat every week, so it's not definite.
Ryan
What happened to us signing players with resale value? He'll be 30 in November.
Mole_Toonfan
Would really like Kone and he provides a lot of things we don't have.

The College Dropout
Think we can find a 24-year old with the capabilities of Kone.
KaKa
What happened to us signing players with resale value? He'll be 30 in November. Yeah but he costs 5 pence and his salary will likely be a pittance in comparison to others.
Teasy
What happened to us signing players with resale value? He'll be 30 in November. At £5m he could still have resale value relatively speaking, nothing to say you can't get a few million for a player over 30 as long as he's still in contract. I can't possibly stress how much I'd prefer Kone to Bent BTW!!! Both similar age, both similar fee (assuming Villa aren't really insane enough to expect anything like £8m). But Kone offers so much more and would fit what we need so much better than Bent.

Teasy
Kone's a good player.. Obviously not exactly finding an unearthed gem like but we'll have to leave that to Carr, if he's allowed to do it now

Teasy
I suppose its still most likely he'll go to Everton though with Martinez there. Also he's quite a strict muslim, so I wonder if the Wonga thing will have an effect.

themanupstairs
We'll sign Kone and JFK will be straight off to the police thinking he's found Kony 2012. "Sawr it on the tube mate. It's 'im"
Jack Flash
Did some youtube scouting of Kone and it'd be worse than the mackems appointing Di Canio ffs. (shouldn't have spend 10 mins watching the video )
