OzzieMandias
Well pleased this has been sorted out. I was convinced we'd have to sell him.

Sifu
This is positive news, let's hope they (the club and Cisse) can put this properly behind them now. We need to fucking crack on with (what has been so far) an indifferent pre-season.
Kanj
Wonder what it took to resolve it. Would be class if Wonga did something like donate to Cisse's charity - but then I wonder if he'd be pissed that they used their profits from the loans he wasn't a fan of to donate to his charity.... So nevermind.
Shearergol
Yay, new signing. No need for a new striker now.

madras
tbf mick the way our PFA works, all they'll have said is give him more money. I think Cisse will have been looking for a way out. The Muslim Council moaned, he's reacted and made a bit of a stand, he's been given a way out and taken it. quite possible. looking from the outside though unless he gets something out of it (ie being let off doing promo stuff, wearing training kit a la kanoute) then it just looks like he's backed down and to those further away it would like like its due to the aspers photo. My goodness that would be a load of bad press only capable by someone like JFK and MA.
tmonkey
What f***s me off is this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23455637 However, after a week of talks, both sides are satisfied and Cisse is now available to play for Newcastle again. Absolutely no acceptable reason I can think of as to why this has taken so long to happen. He should have been in Portugal with the rest of the squad at the very least. We're so f***ing amateur it's unreal. Not entirely clued up about what's going on at the club, but aren't we effectively rudderless right now in terms of not having a chairman or managing director? If so, not surprising at all that it's taking us ages to get basic things done. Especially if Llambias' duties have been taken over by Kinnear, who was supposedly on holiday for much of the past month.

I still don't see how that is relevant to any of this. It's not like he has ever claimed to be the perfect muslim who follows quaran to the word. He just has a faith/moral problem with Wonga. How does the fact he's pictured in the papers gambling change any of that? Only thing it changed are the opinions of some simpleton fans who never understood the real problem to begin with. More likely it's down to Pardew being back from Portugal and having a chat with him.

Anyway: http://i.imgur.com/mJSm9fT.png Especially if that last line is true. The fact its taken a week and he's supposedly been all for finding a resolution doesn't paint the clubs negotiators in a very good light.

stozo
Seems pretty obvious that Cisse has capitulated in the face of the casino story and in order to keep him happy the club have spun his capitulation as reaching 'mutual agreement'.

Pics of him in a Casino have been floating about for ages, it wasn't exactly a secret and you can bet the club knew. Maybe they finally got round to speaking to him - something as simple as that. mrmojorisin75
so what actually happened here then in the end? no official statement from cisse as far as i'm aware, just some stories in the paper with no official quotes, cisse stays at home for a few days when he's fasting for ramadan anyway and now it's all sorted...have i got that right? looking at it from that standpoint have the club done that badly? guess the main problem might have been it's presumably created uncertainty about our transfer targets which should now no longer exist...go on then joe
