Thread on a statue of Sir Bobby outside the ground, when did we spit on him and force him out of the club?

Sad thread.

Apparently he was spat at in 1982 (I think) when he was England manager and had dropped KK, who was by then a Newcastle player. He wrote about it in a book.

A disgusting thing to happen at any time, but the Mackems always seem to imply/believe it happend during the end of his time as manager.

Embarrassing twats, honestly where did this fans hounded him out/spat on him shite come from?

Dont seem ashamed about their vile songs about him though, lets just cling to an alleged rumour about one fan no doubt. By their logic every single one is a proven racist after the Bent saga.

Fuking hell, 30 years ago? A lot of vile things happened in football back then but to spin it like they have is pathetic

That ''Sess'' thread is class like.

They really are mental, the rest of country & continent wouldn't even need to think twice in a ''Sess'' vs Hatem debate.

Stephane Sessegnon is the best player at either of the two clubs. He'd get in ahead of all their players on current form except cisse.

Aye, here's his current form.....

* Sunderland have picked up just 11 points from their last 11 PL games - the same as Bolton and two less than Blackburn.

* They have failed to score in four consecutive PL games for the first time since March/April last year.

* Stephane Sessegnon has managed just two shots on target in his last ten Premier League games.

Fuck me, he's on fucking FIRE!

That's the best part, you were expecting it to say something like "first time since their miserable 15 point season", but no, it happened last season as well

I think SBR was spat on by NUFC fans...when we signed KK as a player and he was dropped by SBR who was then England manager.  I think it was at the Rotherham game.

Aye, but anything about us and SBR and the mackems immediately start with 'The Mags hounded him out and spat on him', like the the spitting incident was connected to him losing his job as manager here, when in fact it was 30 years ago, when he was unconnected to the club - that's not to defend it in any way, mind.

Lads, you must realise that the rivalry between the two sets of fans is quite different.

To us, they are merely an object of amusement, something we look down on and will always take the piss out of, which is quite easy as their bungling management and dimwit fans supply us with an endless source of ammunition.

They however have a bitter hatred of all things Newcastle, be it the city their players and management live and socialise in, or the football club which is so famous throughout Europe and around the world. This has put a monumental chip on their shoulder which makes hatred and bitterness their default mode. The hatred has twisted their confused minds to the extent that whether they are an educated journalist working for the Guardian, or just an ordinary free ticket fan, they will deny the truth and twist facts to perpetuate the prejudiced myths they invent and cling to so pathetically.

Wasn't peter reid swilled with beer and spat at?  The manager who took them up and gave them their highest finish in decades?

They are acting so pathetic, like big babies.

On one hand they are saying 'what did he do to deserve a statue at SJP?' on the other they are saying 'the mags are not worthy of his statue because they spat at him'.

Pathetic.
