Ahhh i guess its a down to the ref thing, i remember Billy Sharp not getting one (rightly so imo) for his "for you son" undershirt thing.

 

Referee's are clearly erring on the side of caution when the message is particularly sensitive.  Could you image the outrage if Billy or Cahill had been booked?  The referee would have been be hung, drawn and quartered by the majority of the nation.  Of course, the players really shouldn't be putting the referees in such a position in the first place...

15 November 2009 Maurizio Greco 25 TuS Güldenstern Stade He collapsed during the match of his club TuS Güldenstern Stade against Lupo Martini Wolfsburg at Campers Höhe and died later in the hospital.[52]

6 March 2010 Endurance Idahor 25 Al-Merreikh He collapsed during the match of his Sudanese club Al Merreikh against Alamal Atbara. He died in the ambulance. Autopsy report revealed that he suffered a circulatory collapse from a heart attack.

8 March 2010 Bartholomew Opoku 19 Kessben F.C. He collapsed the day before while playing against league side Liberty. He was quickly taken to hospital and is understood to have stabilised overnight. His death was announced the next day by his club.[53]

I work in a hospital and i've been chatting to a nurse from the H&C Dept, i asked virtually the same thing......apparently it isn't as straightforward as that, she did explain to me what happens but every case is slightly different, left, right valves, different types of heart attacks......so many different things.

 

But the one aim is to keep the oxygen flow to the brain, if that is stopped then its all over, the brain is most important thing, this much i knew.
