From Gameweek 27, thought I'd create a separate column on the league table called 'Arrogance'.

It basically assesses how good you would be at betting on predictions in the long-term.

Scoring

The way the scoring systems is that you put an asterisk next to those predictions you make, which you believe to be "bankers" (or that you would feel comfortable betting on, basically).

For every correct result (note: not score!) that you get right with an asterisk next to it, you get a point. If you get all the results right with an asterisk next to it in a gameweek, you get an additional ten points.

Examples

For example, just saw BeloEmre had posted this:

Aston Villa 1 v 2  Newcastle *

QPR 0 v 3  Man City

Stoke City 2  v 0  Wigan

Sunderland 1 v 2 Swansea

Arsenal 3 v 1 Liverpool *

Everton 2 v 1 West Brom *

Norwich 1 v 2 Tottenham

Fulham 2 v 1 West Ham

Man Utd 4 v 0 Southampton *

Reading 1 v 4  Chelsea *

He'd get three points (Newcastle, Everton and Man Utd won).

However, for predicting he'd get fewer right, but getting all of those correct:

Aston Villa 1 v 2  Newcastle *

QPR 0 v 3  Man City

Stoke City 2  v 0  Wigan

Sunderland 1 v 2 Swansea

Arsenal 3 v 1 Liverpool

Everton 2 v 1 West Brom

Norwich 1 v 2 Tottenham

Fulham 2 v 1 West Ham

Man Utd 4 v 0 Southampton *

Reading 1 v 4  Chelsea

...he would get 12 points (Newcastle and Man Utd won, plus ten bonus points).

Anyway, going to try it out for gameweek 27:

Fulham v Stoke City

Arsenal v Aston Villa

Norwich v Everton

QPR v Man Utd

Reading v Wigan

West Brom v Sunderland

Man City v Chelsea

Newcastle v Southampton

West Ham v Tottenham

Will see if it falls flat on its arse or not. O0

Sweet

Gameweek 27:

Fulham  1 v 1  Stoke City

Arsenal 2  v 0  Aston Villa *

Norwich  1 v  1 Everton

QPR  1 v  3 Man Utd  *

Reading 1  v  1 Wigan

West Brom 2  v  1 Sunderland

Man City 1  v  1 Chelsea

Newcastle 2  v 1  Southampton

West Ham 0  v 2  Tottenham

Just realized we got a two week wait for this :anguish:

You might as well put an asterisk next to one match, every single week.  You'll get 11 points more often than not, and not risk just getting 1 or 2 for the sake of getting 12 or 13.

It would probably be better if the scoring was that you gained 10 points and lost 15 or something.  I dunno, it's not broke so I don't get this.

Oh, this isn't to supplement/alter the current league table's point scoring system btw.

This is just a new league because our league finish looks like it'll be as competitive as the Premiership at present.

I know what you mean about getting 11/12 points, but that's why the game from which I've nicked this idea is called Arrogance - and to catch folk who are ahead of you, you need to wager more etc - just a wee experiment anyway. If it's shit(/too much effort for me/has low participation), I'll can it
