Not saying I want him to be sacked, but he won't feel any pressure if this continues. Shit football awarded with shit results whilst having a couple of fucking phenomenal players on our hands. Last season was a happy fluke, but it makes this season feel that much worse. I think I'd be pretty 'meh' about the whole thing if we finished 10th last year or something. True, which is why other factors in the football supporting experience are important. Like the visual integrity of the stadium, the atmosphere, the style of play, the availability of tickets for away games, the attitude to cup games, which strip we wear. In the absence of success / progress this kind of stuff takes on greater importance. ATM the club is being run entirely in the name of money but without the rewards. "Obertan has got a toe that we needed to sort out, so there has been a manoeuvre on that which put him out today and probably for Maritimo as well. He might be back for Southampton." Bit more worrying that he sees Obertan as a potential solution for something. We went on an amazing run from the start of last season with Obertan playing right wing and Hatem on the bench. I'm not for a minute suggesting that we drop Hatem but moving him inside and adding Obertan's pace and directness might not be the worst idea. Wilson Posted November 20, 2012 Share Posted November 20, 2012 Sometimes i think i wouldnt mind him in for something different, and to be fair he probably deserved a crack after a couple of decent europa showings, but then when he's back on the pitch, it's the same old frustration. Running down blind alleys, not using his pace to get past players but instead trying a few step overs and ultimately losing the ball, and probably the most frustrating for me is when he just seems to hang on to the ball instead of the easy pass and again, losing it. He did more positive things in the final 10 or so minutes against Swansea than Anita, Tiote or Sammy did over a full game (or nearly, in Sammy's case). Exactly, the only thing we can possibly do is play with 3 forwards, with Ba and HBA wide. That's the only way we can hope to stretch the game and create space with the personnel we have.
