Skeletor
TBH Krul is the worst culprit for long balls. It's definitely Pardew's tactics though. Enough of our players have admitted that.

Percentage football or as i like to call it, cowards long ball fucktard lazy football. It's gutless stuff and an easy way out for a clueless manager, such as ours funnily enough. TRon
The only player guilty of long ball is constantly Williamson and Simpson. That is complete nonsense. Can't believe there are still people thinking that the only reason we go long so often is because of them two. Even after yesterday where we were out-passed by a team of limited Championship players. To be fair, the team we put out yesterday was barely championship standard. It was worth a lot more than Brighton's. Really? Take away Anita and santon and I can't think of a player we paid a million for? Perch Bigirimana Obertan there's 3 for starters Thought perch and biggi were both a million tbh. Anyhow, regardless of cost, the point was the team we put out was championship standard. Okay, but of the two "championship" standard teams, they played football like a team that's well drilled in basic concepts and we didn't. Not to mention the point raised initially was that we played hoofball becuase of Simpson and Williamson, which is rubbish.

Honestly just wonder whether it's our bad training since Krul has always had terrible distribution. Frustrates me like nothing else when we're chasing a game and he catches a cross then holds onto the ball for 30 seconds so every one can get in position for the hoof. Pilko
Add Williamson to that list as well. Pretty sure Shola was valued at £4m when Wise was here as well. To be fair, who gives a fuck what some moron decided Shola was 'valued at'? I think we all know his true value is £0, and without his goals against the mackems and in Europe he'd be on a negative value.

I'd say he was instructed to do so or we'd have one of our CBS offering themselves for the simple pass.
Dr Venkman
TBH Krul is the worst culprit for long balls. It's definitely Pardew's tactics though. Enough of our players have admitted that. I would like to see him roll it to the fullbacks more, that's just basic football imo. That's not particularly what I was getting at though. When the ball is played back to him more often than not he has to kick it long because he's under pressure and all our defenders are too. This comes about because we make very little effort to work our way up the pitch as a team by passing and moving. All too often the other team can press us without us being able to pass it around them and make them pay for it, and we just knock it back to Krul. It's this sort of stuff the 'it's Simpson and Wiiliamsons fault' crowd don't see. If we had an intention to pass our way up the pitch, we'd practice it, if we practiced it we'd be able to do it on a match day and when teams stepped onto us we could make them pay. We don't do any of this and other teams know it now. We need options just ahead of the ball, not one option 50 yards ahead.
Guest neesy111
Well Krul should have 2 fullbacks he can roll/pass to now. No excuses really now for him.
Dr Venkman
Well Krul should have 2 fullbacks he can roll/pass to now. No excuses really now for him. He should have, but Pardew needs to tell them it's their responsibility to make themselves available every single time Krul's got it. He won't. Pardew is hoping that Debuchy & co will sort all the passing and moving themselves so he doesn't have to coach it. Because he can't.

Guest neesy111
No wonder why we haven't came back from behind under Pardew when he just goes to the long ball shite. That is 1 justifiable reason to sack the twat alone.

morpeth mag
How many times did Pards do his little 'rainbow' signal during the last few games ie go long...I saw him do it at least three times during the Arsenal game. I too wish we played more football on the ground with better movement BUT against Arsenal in the second half Arsenal pressed the ball a lot higher up the pitch so to try and find the space between their defence and midfield is no bad tactic. Additionally I have kittens when Willo /Simpson try and play out of defence so AP was probably just looking after my health. Serious bit: players need to be more tactically aware - we miss Cabaye.
