Can't really knock pards today, we had almost total control of the game and the subs were perfect.

The subs should have been made earlier. They aren't always going to pull rabbits out of the hat in the last 10 mins.

His substitutes changed the game this week, that's a sign of a good manager! At least according to some after the Swansea game.

And also Pardew at the moment is completely rubbishing this 'can't come from behind and win' myth.  Good stuff indeed!

Good substitutions today.

But as Beren said in the match thread, the gameplan is a horrible one that is more hopeful than anything, and as predicted it wasn't until we went behind that we actually started to attack Stoke with a bit of intent. Which is actually pretty shocking given that this was a home game against a mediocre Premiership side full of cloggers at a point in the season where relegation is still a big worry.

BBC report says we deservedly won.

Stoke didn't deserve a point so guess they're right.

 Dominance that for the most part that certainly didn't translate to quality end product. It would've told a story in itself if we didn't grab the winner. Neither team could do shit all outside of a set piece.

Stoke are a terrible side. I think if we'd picked a more adventurous side and gone for it we'd have won comfortably.

It was Mbiwa for Coloccini, and Tiote for Perch, away from being the same team which played brilliantly against Chelsea, and scored 4 against Southampton.

We won and imo it was a good performance.  We controlled it and we should have buried more of the chances that came our way.

Watching the Pool and Spurs game, we are no where near the level of this two teams and tbh its not down to the player quality.

Pardew ffs get a good second in, don't just grow a beard to look wise.

I like his rugged look.

Our lack of bite attacking-wise is worrying mind. But that's another win from behind, the spirit has come back and our heads aren't dropping and that can only be a good sign.

We barely had any.

We didn't had many, not clear cut ones, just many aimless floated crosses. He needed his Carrol and Shola to play those tactics.

If we had an actual second forward/striker we wouldn`t look so useless going forward, or devoid of ideas when teams like Stoke come here to defend and counter.  I can`t think of much more Pardew could have done tactically. We had enough shots and crosses, just no one to put them away naturally.

If that's what passes for a good performance these days then that tells you all you need to know. We were clearly the better team but you'd see more spark at an ME disco.

My thoughts exactly.

I'm really happy with the result, don't get me wrong - I'm just considering spending my weekends doing something more interesting.
