Newcastle United 1 - 1 CS Maritimo - 22/11/12 - post-match reaction from page 30

Awful performance, the 2nd half especially. Pardew blaming injuries yet again, but it highlights that what we have in reserve is too inexperienced or not good enough. We so badly need new bodies brought in, in January - but I'm not convinced Ashley will fork out.

Pardew said he had no idea about Ben Arfa's injury (time out), but said that Cisse could play on Sunday. He looked very angry too.

Our fans

In what way?  Not turning up or chants?

The 'your support is f**king sh*t' song and the 'Pardew give us a wave' about 4 times

Aye, most of our chants nowadays are cringe worthy as fuck.

the new fresh off the boat players in our team probably got offended.  i mean one of the first words they learn is 'shyt'  they probably thought we were slagging them off after just 5 minutes lol

And there's me getting laughed at for not wanting to play our best players. Just the 2 important injured.

Maybe they should stop training too.

Would the performance/result be any different if we'd have played more kids? No. Is the Southampton game massively affected? Yes.

thoroughly unenjoyable evening out all together.

market stalls shut for the Christmas lights.

Northumbrian Gold went off in the Crows Nest

Got landed next to 3 pissed Scotsmen singing sectarian bullshit

The kids in the Strawberry corner sang cringeworthy bullshit all evening

Ben Arfa got injured

we thumped it long

Anita and Bigi constantly gave away possession

Cisse got injured

we thumped it long

it became apparent they would score as we did our usual thing of sitting back.

They scored

The bus home was rammed full of charvas

Absolute s**** yet again. No creativity or movement at all, just lumping balls up to Ba. Free kicks are still pointless, just directing them to Taylor tonight on the egde of the box. Really don't get why we just don't whip the ball in, if it gets a flick on there's a very good chance it'll end up in the net or the keeper is going to parry it away.

Not looking forward to the next few games at all.

I do think it's daft to talk about relegation at this stage. There seemed to be a desire to go out and stick a couple past them but at the same time we were very aware that a draw would do, particularly once HBA and Cisse had got injured. Even at 1-0 up we looked like we'd settle for 1-1.

The performance was awful mind. We're just completely lacking a game plan at the moment. Injuries have played a huge part and most teams would struggle when they're down to their third choices in a number of positions but it's basic stuff like set pieces, which are absolutely diabolical at and have been for ages. Sitting off players until the enter our 18 yard box is another habit which we've gotten into and needs sorting out.

Don't think too much can be read into that game. It's a lacklustre competition and we are in a particularly drab group. Small crowd, virtually meaningless game, crap competition... not far off bring a testimonial in terms of an event. The whole thing was an exercise in going through the motions.

The last 20 minutes was like being back at school and waiting for the bell to go so you could go home. Getting virtually no enjoyment from watching us atm, it's fucking tedious.

Last couple of league games I've noticed myself sitting there daydreaming about the rush of jumping up and down roaring when we score. :embarrassed:
