loki679
Pardew wont drop Tiote or Jonas or go back to 433, so we're stuck with this. It's baffling that he can't see it, it's so clear. This. Starting to wonder if we'd be better off with Kinnear. It's splitting hairs as to which one I hate most atm. At least Kinnear has the comedy value. 'Would you like your balls cut off with the rusty scissors or the rusty knife, sir?'

madras
Is not a f***ing winger! was he hemmed rigid to the wing or was there an idea he could come inside, switch with ben arfa and debuchy coming outside ?

Kasper
It's just Sissoko's turn. First it was Cisse and next it'll be some other poor sod. Probably Tiote. I'd genuinely prefer Obertan to play wide right instead of Sissoko. Criminal waste of Moussa's talent. Worst thing about all this is it's all because he's trying to push Ben Arfa into a No.10 role where he's never looked comfortable. Ben Arfa on form is one of the best right wingers in the league FFS! It makes it even more baffling that Sissoko was playing in the middle when he was signed and it was working pretty well. And Hatem has always worked on the right. There's plenty of things he could change that arent working, instead he changes the one thing that does.
Guest icemanblue
So, was he, or wasn't he, playing exclusively on the right?
Al Moody
Big worry if so. How can a manager get so many things wrong, so often?
TRon
Is not a f***ing winger! was he hemmed rigid to the wing or was there an idea he could come inside, switch with ben arfa and debuchy coming outside ? In theory, as long as Sissoko is allowed some freedom on the right and can come inside where he's more familiar, you would have thought he could dovetail quite nicely with Debuchy. It hasn't worked very well for us so far though.
The College Dropout
Sissoko was terrible at AM apart from 3 tremendous games early doors. He's more a wide man than an AM.

thenige
He's either a box to box or deep-lying midfielder I'd say.

Yep he's a central midfielder who should be given license to get forward imo.

I like the Yaya Toure comparisons, obviously he isn't close to being of that ability but him playing more box to box then having the odd surging run as legs get tired sounds ideal. The Toure comparison is a good shout (obviously not yet as you say). He's very Young too, 23 i think and he's got years to get much much better, with the right coaching. AyeDubbleYoo
Sissoko will be absolutely immense, question is how long it will take us to utilise him properly.
Guest bimpy474
Sissoko will be absolutely immense, question is how long it will take us to utilise him properly. If Pardew stops his mental block of having to play Tiote and puts Sissoko there instead, it would be a start.

If Pardew stops his mental block of having to play Tiote and puts Sissoko there instead, it would be a start. I don't believe Sissoko/Cabaye would work very well. But I do believe a midfield 3 with them all would be great (or a proper Tiote replacement).

alexf
Only time I remember Sissoko starting in a midfield two with Cabaye was Fulham at home with Gouffran upfront also. We started that game well but then someone got injured (santon?) and we reverted back to the original line up. Don't know why it hasn't been tried since.
