Minhosa
I like him. Really surprised at this Tooj given your penchant for proper footballers such as Solano etc.
KaKa
This forum is f***ing terrible after a defeat like. it's crazy man, I'm out.
Pilko
He wasn't as bad as he has been at his worst, but he was one of the poorer ones out there today. Frustrating as fuck.
Mole_Toonfan
Yes he's inconsistent and yes he can be frustrating but he's far from s*** and no we can't easily improve on him. Have you seen our midfield options? Colback is a f***ing starter so we have no chance on improving him.
Guest palnese
This forum is f***ing terrible after a defeat like. I personally didn't see the match today so me saying he's shite has nowt to do with how well or how shit he played today or because we lost. He is not a footballer whatsoever. In many ways he is similar to Obertan, all pace and not much else. Incredible.
Mole_Toonfan
What's gan on in here? Been very critical of him in the past but he looked very lively on the counter today. Certainly wasn't awful.

Mole_Toonfan
Whether that's true or not makes no difference, I disagree but it doesn't matter. Point is he's one of our better players, he's far from shit and we can't easily improve on him that is quite clear.
joeyt
Thought he played well on the counter as the most advanced central midfielder in the first half. All went to pot once Anita went off though and Sissoko was expected to stick to the centre

Point is he's one of our better players, he's far from shit and we can't easily improve on him that is quite clear. Only it's not clear at all. We could very easily find a midfielder with a brain who, over the course of the season, would add more value to the side than him. Intelligence over brawn every time. Segun Oluwaniyi
As a team today, NUFC seemed to have quite a bit of endeavour, athleticism, and willingness without too much intelligence is movement or passing or anything in the final third. Moussa exemplified this. Still, I thought he was quite useful today and along with Colback contributed well in midfield.
Geordie Ahmed
I like him, if he had raker technique then he would be Yaya Toure BUT he doesn't nor can we afford a Yaya His pace and power drives the team forward, would certainly keep him in the middle and think with an extended run there he will be class

You are not comparing like with like. Sissoko has power, pace and strength, he is missing poise but why compare him with Colback? Might as well compare him with Krul. As for driving the team forward... to what purpose? That's like saying Shola was a physical presence up front. It means fuck all unless something comes of it and for us Sissoko driving forward often results in sweet FA just as Shola putting his weight about often did. Honestly he's a nothing player. Been very critical of him in the past but he looked very lively on the counter today. Certainly wasn't awful. This Thought he was our best player today. Maybe, he was up there. We have had pedestrian midfields before with static players keen to pass sideways. This player is happy to take the ball and run with it, putting pressure on the opposition and creating space, that's what we've been missing and something you don't see that often, see the England team for confirmation. Isn't that what football is about? No?
TJM
To elaborate on the point that HTT seems to miss. When Toure breaks forward he has midfielders around him breaking at pace, strikers ahead of him with world class movement. When Sissoko breaks forward he has Rivière ahead of him running in straight lines.

No its not man, Shola was awful with no redeeming qualities Sissoko does drive the team forward, to the extent it puts the opposition on the back foot and he creates a gap between midfield and defence, something that nobody else in the team offers We just need to surround him with players that are more creative and have movement
Guest ElCid
Still can't see why this love in with Sissoko or Anita - what actually do they do? Do they create loads of chances - no - Do they score loads of goals - no. Not saying either are rubbish players but over these last two years apart from the odd game, honestly what have either done? Sissoko loses the ball so often it's unreal and when he goes on a run it's head down before running into problems. Anita is tidy with 10 yard passes but does not deliver many killer balls and is very easily brushed of the ball in central midfield. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but to me it's so obvious what the problems are and let's not even start on the defence or up front. Today's Pardew team fully demonstrated his total philosophy on football - stop the other team from playing and hopefully get a break.
TJM
ElCid spot on mate. We've all got our opinions on these midfielders but Pardews tactics makes them, really, irrelevant
afar
Wasn't there some stat somewhere that Sissoko was in the top 5 of chances created last year in the Prem. I dunno I could be wrong.
