forget anything with the size of our club perceived or otherwise just focus on Ashley, why in gods name would Di Matteo a man who can get a fair few jobs based of the CL win alone go to work under him?

He refused to talk to sunderland because he thought our job would be going soon after, or at least that was claimed before they got Poyet.

And even after their good run (making hay while the sun shines) they are still only 2 pts clear of the relegation zone. They have done well during this part of the schedule against the low/mid table teams but the schedule will son turn against them.

And yet....I have been impressed by the work Poyet has done....they have god shape, good purpose and looked really good today.

We've given them a quarter of their total points.

Without those points they'd still be in the bottom 3.

And last season 0-3 kept them up. Pardew the fucking genius.

This is the best I've seen them in terms of on the ball passing, movement and off the ball movement at our place. They play simple but effective football and its clearly working for them.  Mind, they faced a piss poor team.

They have been more ambitious than us since Ashley took over to be fair to them. They regularly back their manager in the transfer market and when things aren't going well, they look to make changes to rectify that.  They were always going to be a decent manager away from being, well decent.

Sunderland didn't have to play well today they competed and we didn't. Colback was the best player on the park and that says it all. We were abysmal and Ashley is probably laughing his click off.  We got humiliated, don't qualify for Europe and don't go down, perfect.

Honestly without going on the wind-up, they'd be a canny team as it stands with someone but that crap yank up front.

He was a beast for them, but his touches inside the box and attempts at shooting

You beat who you are up against, to a man they bossed it , they wanted it more than us they had more at stake and it showed

Fully deserved today but still think they will be right in the mash at the end of season and next weeks game is vital if you look at the games after that

Exactly.  He's areet at holding the ball but he's f***ing dreadful at doing what a striker is meant to do.

Having said that, our two centre-backs made hard work of someone basically with his back to goal all game. Can't get it off him, let him have it and pick up the pieces etc. He drew our men into foul after foul or trying to basically be as tough or strong as he was and we often lost out. Colo would have had him in his back pocket today. Both Taylor and Williamosn were drawn to a physical dual though, neither of whom had a chance of winning. Silly stuff from our boys really. Someone like him is easy to deal with with a bit of nous.
