Guest
Yep. He'd have quite easily walked into a Premier League job in the next 6-12 months, instead he's taken a punt on taking a team up when they're someway off the automatic spots.
Away Day Gadgie
He'd be a very good appointment for them IMO.
midds
Quite happy if Pulis takes the Boro job because as dreadful as it would be to watch he's got the potential to organise a struggling PL side. Britton may turn out to be the next Guardiola but I'm thinking he's going to struggle if he gets it permanently.
Dinho lad
Didn't realise Sevilla have sacked their manager, seems a strange one, not least because he's got cancer. Tin hat theory: Maybe he was going to have to resign due to the cancer, but the club said they'd sack him instead so he gets the pay off. Why not just let him resign AND give him the pay off? And bypass the looking like cunts for sacking a man with cancer bit. No self respecting club in this day and age would ever terminate the contract of a man who’d had cancer. Especially via a phone call. I’m sorry, but your suggestion is fucking stupid.
54
If he fails I wonder if it'll be the last we'll of him as a Premier League Manager?
Deuce
Hopefully that means we’re spared from having to watch Pulisball in the PL for at least a couple seasons.

afar
Not convinced Pulis at Boro is a good idea for them in the champ. He’s a negative manager, he relies heavily on stoping the opposition playing first and foremost. To get out of the champs with one of the bigger names you need to be on the front foot more often than not, not sure his style will work. He did take Stoke up but they went up with the lowest points total in PL history.

They're within touching distance of the playoffs and a transfer window to come, he might well get them straight up. I also think the strikers they have are fairly well suited to pulisball. Kaizero
Pulis is the epitome of Championship challengers/PL survival managers. They’ll challenge, might go up, and might stay up. But will do nothing more.

Stifler
What would you expect a club of Boro's budget & stature to achieve without Pulis? This might be controversial but Boro have been massive overachievers throughout their history. Typically for a club of their support stature and even for the population size of Boro most clubs would typically be in the lower leagues or bottom end of the Championship. Instead they have spent the majority of their history in the Premier League/Division 1. They also have a League Cup win and a European final appearance to their name. They won the lottery with Gibson, not only did he rescue them from going bust, but he also arrived at a time when the Premier League was taking off and he managed to make them an established side within it at a time when bigger clubs than them were falling from it and down the leagues. I do wonder if they will ever just fall away to what their natural level ought to be, they nearly did a few years ago.

Doesn't sound right, they're the quintessential second tier club aren't they?
Guest
They've only been outside of the top two divisions twice in their entire history.

pedro111
Stifler, the Teesside urban area is for sure big enough to host a Premier League team and most certainly a Championship one. Lower leagues is a bit harsh.

Guest
Nearest good size clubs are Hull, Leeds, us & Sunderland. Fair catchment area. Stockton for instance has a population not too far off what Middlesbrough is.
