The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Van Nistelrooy to Leicester

Recommended Posts

Might be worth a speculative £1 on Steve Clarke mind at 66/1. 38 points from his last 38 games, out of contract in the summer...

Did you get on it?

Nope. :yao:

Though those were the odds the day before Jol was sacked so I think they were all high due to him being a cert. Was 6/1 2 hours ago though.

He looked a bit lost in recent weeks always blaming everything except himself. It's a bit harsh on him because he is a man with a lot of experience and should have been given until New Year to turn things around. Probably Di Matteo for another stint or Di Canio  :jones:

Pardew had previously got results though. This was Clarke's first managerial position so no-one knows if he would have turned it around.

There's also the fact Pardew had 8 years of his contract left and Clarke had 6 months.

Think it's harsh on him really, it's been a shit run but no reason why he couldn't have turned it around. Not sure why these clubs appoint managers like Clarke and then expect miracles. Most managers at clubs like West Brom will have poor runs of form at some point, keep some faith in them and they might come out of it in a better position because of it.

Agreed. Don't know who they think they are really.

This also shows the problem with clubs like WBA loaning players like Lukaku that are far too good for them. Expectations are raised without the funds to back it up.

They've won 7 league games in 2013. That's more than just a "shit run" to be honest. They were going in one direction under him and it wasn't up. Di Matteo favourite so far followed by Jol & Solksjaer. with the bookies.

They sacked Di Matteo 3 years ago because they thought he'd be unable to steady the ship and stop the rot, surely they won't go back for him now to "steady the ship" and stop their current rot ?!

After hearing Sullivan's interview on Football Focus today I'm not sure now, I thought that was a cert. Basically said why would they sack Allardyce, when the type of manager they'd go for to keep them up would be Sam Allardyce.

Allardyce surely next; they have Man Utd (lol) and Arsenal in their next two games. One point above 19th.

Think West Ham will let Sam play at least a month with Carroll fit and then decide his future. It's his marquee signing after all.
