According to a joint investigation by the Guardian and Channel 4 programme Dispatches, the president of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantaki had agreed to fix future international matches. Police were subsequently asked to investigate, which led to calls of a revolt among Kwesi Appiah's squad, who have just one point from their World Cup matches to date. According to Bloomberg, Deputy Sports Minister Joseph Yammin told Citi FM: "The players insisted that they will want physical cash. "The government had to mobilise the money and a chartered flight to Brazil. The money is in excess of $3million." Appiah, whose side face Portugal on Thursday needing a combination of results to qualify for the last 16, said the cash was on its way to the Brazilian capital by plane. "There are some issues concerning money and the management and the government of the country are trying to sort it out and hopefully everything will be sorted out in 2-3 hours' time," he told reporters. Somehow every single country aside from the African ones manages to pay their players, though. Iran and Colombia are not amazing, first world and stable nations yet they don't have such problems. It is a give and take, tbh. Song would never dare elbow someone in the spine playing for Barcelona and Muntari/Boateng would never attack officials at their clubs, but their clubs would also never completely disregard their wages and well-being.
