You lot should show Whelan some respect, he broke his leg once and only whinged about it for 53 years.

Aye and he can still manage to shit all over players who may have their careers ended by similar injuries out of sheer stubborn pigheadedness, wonderful man IMO.

Still a better club owner than Ashley though :(

How positive is Whelan, Listen to him Pardew, listen to him, you f***ing cuntface headbutting wankstain.

Relentless you, Bimpy!

Is he right ?

One could say you're relentless in your backing of a gutless, defeatist fucking rank bad wankerstain of a manager. But hey ho.

... have Arsenal mathematically secured Europe through the league yet?

What's that got to do with it. If Wigan knock Arsenal out then Wigan and the other finalist are definitely in the Europa.

The runner up only goes into Europe if the winner is already in Europe...?

Unless Arsenal lose mentally then it's the losers in. I know it's a bit jumping the gun but can you see them not making it.

So you could say, it's probable that Sheffield United, Wigan or Hull are going to be in Europe?

One of them will be for definite.

Might have already been covered but Arsenal would have to finish in the top 4 (yes, very probable) for the runners up to get in (assuming Arsenal win it)

Top 6 to be exact.

If they finish 5th, they would qualify for the Europa League through the cup, and the next league place would get it, not the runners up.

But Man City already won the League Cup, 5th place and now 6th Europa.

A Europa place always goes to the winners or losers of the FA Cup (if the winners had already qualified through league places/League Cup)

It's normally around this point at which someone asks if the League Cup runners up get into Europe.

I still find it amazing footy fans dont know how the FA Cup Europa quali works after all these years  :undecided:

Nope, it's just the winners are normally in the top 4 so it goes to the runner up. A few years ago, Man City played Stoke in the final. Stoke needed City to get 4th ahead of Spurs so they could get the Europa spot. Unless it's changed since then, it'll still be the rule now. It just never happens.

There are three places in the UEFA Europa League available: the FA Cup winners will enter at the Group Stage; the fifth place team in the Barclays Premier League will enter at the Play-Off stage; and the Football League Cup winners will enter at the Q3 stage.

In the event the FA Cup winners are qualified for the UEFA Champions League the FA Cup runners-up will qualify, but in the place reserved for the lowest ranking Barclays Premier League representative. The place with direct access to the Group Stage will be given to the club that finishes in the highest position in the Barclays Premier League of the clubs qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.

English winners of the UEFA Europa League will enter at the Group Stage, gaining an extra domestic place only if they fail to qualify through other means for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League. If the holders of the UEFA Europa League have already qualified for Europe, no extra domestic place will be gained.

Should the FA Cup winners, runners-up (if applicable) and the Football League Cup winners already have qualified for Europe, their place goes to the next best placed clubs in the Premier League.

Fair Play winners enter at the Qualifying round 1 stage.

This place will automatically go the three best-placed national associations in the UEFA Respect fair play rankings provided they achieve an average of 8.0 points or more. The top three associations will then be entitled to enter the club that has either won their domestic top-division fair play competition, or if they are already qualified, the runners-up and so forth.

Please note that the above is purely a guide to the qualification procedure at present. From time to time other scenarios may occur which could mean that the above procedures may need to be reviewed.
