Disco
They're paying for English premium n all like given their total lack of HG players. Pretty much the only England player they could buy who'd move and get in their XI. Liverpool could do a lot worse than using it on one or two players instead of piss farting about signing a raft of £7-15m types.
Disco
Schneiderlin to Man United. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-agree-morgan-schneiderlin-9641501 £14.4m. Will he even get in the team? Cracking player mind, Arsenal should've bought him.
KaKa
£14.4 million seems cheap for Schneiderlin. They should have rinsed them for more.
GeordieT
£14.4 million seems cheap for Schneiderlin. They should have rinsed them for more. Its £25 million isn't it? The £14.4m is for Schweinsteiger.
lovejoy
Lvg needs to deliver the title, they're spending some ££, and still need a striker and a centre half.

Ketsbaia
If Di Maria goes to PSG, that money has effectively gone on Depay, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger. They've done very well with that, their squad is looking lush.
Froggy
Di Maria isn't going anywhere.
lovejoy
They're top heavy in midfield, week up front and in defence I think, there's still a pretty big imbalance. Herrera, Carrick, fellaini, Di Maria, schweinsteiger, schneiderlin, mata, blind. That's an awful lot of competition for 2/3 spots. Then they've got Rooney and Wilson as strikers (hernandez looks like he's away). They've still got a bit to go to get balance I think.
Ketsbaia
Di Maria isn't going anywhere. The French publications keep saying that terms have been agreed etc. It just doesn't go away.

Aye it's pretty perplexing that they've not strengthened in central defence yet, unless they're planning to do so. 3 players down the spine (CB, CF, GK if De Gea's off) that are strong characters and just about the finished article and they'll challenge for the title next year IMO. Disco
Unless he's gasping to be away, I remember reading his family haven't settled, Man Utd would be absolutely nuts to not give him a second season.

Yep, agreed. I've no doubt they'll get the balance needed, but they've a few to go (in and out) yet.
Interpolic
It depends who is available I suppose, there's a real dearth of talent at centre half these days so it might not be as straighforward as throwing money at it. Ramos would be a great signing, obviously. Add Lloris and Shola and they're sorted. Would cost a fortune though, obviously. Actually they could do worse than Remy tbh. lovejoy
I think they'll get kane or cavani to fill their striker vacancy.
lovejoy
Whichever way it's carved up, the most expensive team in history has just had another £100m spent on it. He needs to deliver the title LVG.
Interpolic
Cavani would be good, I really can't see Kane leaving Spurs at this stage though. It'd cost them Sterling money and as great as he was last year it'd be a risk.

Agree although it seems slightly unfair in a sense. Them challenging next season would be enough IMO. The squad had become a bit of a mess before LVG took over. Chelsea's squad is more well suited to churning out enough results to win the title I think.
KaKa
Man Utd are all over the place at the minute. No idea what they're doing. Keep buying midfielders, which is what they seem to have enough of already.
mrmojorisin75
Playing a full season inc champions league with only Rooney and Wilson (?) will be utter lunacy, they have to spaff some wedge on strikers surely? Do Maria /Cavani swap surely makes a degree of sense.

Mole_Toonfan
Don't really get the idea that because they spend a load of money they should be challenging, it matters about the quality of team they put out on the pitch and i'm not particularly convinced they are good enough yet. By the end of the summer they might be but as of now not at all.

By the end of the summer they might be but as of now not at all. honestly they don't seem to be spending it that well tbh, do they need schweinsteiger and schneiderlin, when they already have fellaini, carrick blind and herrera to play in central midfield, sure sign one of them but both seems excessive when they need a top class striker and a top class goalkeeper, they could do with a top quality cb though not as urgently as the striker/goalkeeper need. Interpolic
Even if they spend an absolute fuckload it's no guarantee of success like. Some players from foreign leagues hit the ground running but loads of them need time to settle. Not sure if there are many examples of a club changing more than half of their first eleven then going on to win the league, there might be a couple but it's not common.
