Marveaux is an awful footballer.

You can question his attitude, but he is a good footballer.

He's one of the magical players who gets better with every game he doesn't play. He's gash lads, get over it.

Yeah its a sad fact that some people on here are mongs, just have to accept it.

Plenty on here have always said they liked the look of Marveaux pretty much every time he's played, and that he should be involved in the next game, only for him to be dropped.  He's a bit weak but very good technically and very tidy and intelligent with the ball.

So why wont they spend a pittance to get him? He's been for sale for about a year.

Why wouldn't anyone buy Gareth Bale when he nearly went on loan to Nottingham Forest? Your point means less than using your own eyes and using your own judgement on a player.

You're comparing him to a young Welsh left back who went on to be the most expensive player in World Football. Makes sense.

We got Demba Ba from free with our only rivals for his signature being Everton. Cabaye for £5m with seemingly no one else interested. Sissoko for little over £1m and had we waited we also could have gotten him for free because nobody else was seemingly interested. The same with Gouffran.

It happens all the time, just because a player is available doesn't mean everyone comes flocking for his signature, and if they don't it certainly doesn't mean they're shite. That's utterly bizarre.

EDIT: These players weren't being mismanaged either, they weren't shunted out with the stiffs, they were in the shop window and we still managed to get them for a criminally low price, in some cases after 2 or 3 windows of pursuing them.

Then what happened? They were quality players who moved on. Sissoko will no doubt move sooner rather than later for £10m etc, Ba wasn't free by the way - he had a significant signing on fee. Gouffran is probably a good example actually - a player available at 28, without any great ability who we snapped up cheap.

Marv is average or below average and the rest of his career will reflect this when he signs for a mid table ligue 1 team and he probably wont make the team there either. He was a free transfer who didn't work out.

Get over it lads.  ;D

How much was he worth then? Honestly man. Still though, my point was that your point about a players perceived worth by other clubs means less than using your own judgement.

The only thing that we can't get over is your lack of football knowledge, or sense tbh.

Suppose it's better than being like Vuckic and getting worse every game he plays.

Teehee aren't you mischievous?

Anyway they were quality players who moved on because they were sort of allowed to play. If you want to look at another example of a quality player who hasn't moved on due to gross mismanagement then you just need to look at Marv's compatriot Ben Arfa. Probably the most talented player we've had in a decade sitting with the stiffs and seemingly unwanted by every cunt. Get over it.

Heard a few rumours that Marveaux has a bad attitude. Think it's been mentioned a few times on here too.

Yeah, I'd have a foul attitude too if Shola and Gosling got games ahead of me.

Ever notice that none of these rumours malign the manager in any way?

He's not a tenth of the player Ben Arfa is man - that's what you're struggling to comprehend.

I imagine Ben Arfa isn't moving on because he chinned Pardew in the face - or spent half the season clinically obese. One of them...

The only thing I'm struggling to comprehend is your constantly tedious patter. Marveoux isn't a patch on Ben Arfa, he's not a patch on Demba Ba or Cabaye either, he's by no means a great footballer. He is however better than Dan Gosling and Shola Ameobi who he was constantly overlooked for due to his tendency to "go missing" in between his match winning performances.

He's very talented with the ball at his feet, he's weak as piss and doesn't have an ounce of graft in him though so he's finished here under this moron.

So why fawn over such mediocrity? That's what's embarrassing.

He might flatter to deceive for ten minutes or so but he has no place in a Premier League team. A glimpse or two isn't good enough & I'll be glad to see the back of him. A fit  & motivated HBA or any of the departed players who you mentioned before would massively influence a season - Marv is nowhere near being that player and never will be.

Marv managed to top our assists chart despite playing maybe 10 games in the 2012/2013 season, did it not occur to you that he might contribute a bit more than the average NUFC player if he played regularly?

Fine, he somehow managed 36 appearances, can't be many full games though.

Apart  from the season he got the most assists for us of course? But that doesn't fit your tedious narrative

I remember a season when an old, obese, shot, John Barnes was our joint top scorer - on 7. Just as meaningless really - two shite seasons. (europe aside)

Marveux played 36 games overall that season - many off the bench but that's when he should be making an impact - and what did he return, 5 or 6 assists?  ;D
