Not really enforceable for us though. Pardew puts out enough of a first team squad to not get stung for that. Just gets round it by just telling them not to bother trying to win by the looks of it. I knew John Irving pretty well in our teens and he was a passionate fan and loved going to the match. It's a real shame that he's now happy to be the mouthpiece for this regime. But I guess he gets paid enough that he's willing to toe the line. That's even worse if he used to be a fan. I'd always assumed he was just a numbers man with a passing interest because of his job. When I knew John in the early 90’s he was a huge Newcastle fan. Simon Esland was similar, a big Newcastle fan that ended up landing a high profile job at the club. The bigger clubs do not take it as seriously as the FA Cup, a club in our position should decide to go all out for that competition each year. The FA Cup I believe there is a less chance of winning but just look at the sides that have got to finals the last few years or even Semi Finals. If we had a board that gave a toss you wouldn't see it as a massive shock if we got to a cup final. Its only the League Cup but I would be ecstatic if we won the thing, since I have supported Newcastle I have not seen us lift a meaningful trophy, it would be the world to me to celebrate the glory of winning a cup, yet the cretins in control our club are ensuring that won't happen. They think that a few signings and a couple of wins early next season will see everything all right. Sure a few supporters who believe that it's the club's lack of purchases that have hampered the team recently might be won over but many fans aren't going to suddenly forget the last 18 months and start chanting for a wave again. If he loses a couple of games back to back next season then the crowd is going to be on his back again, more so if we actually buy some players. When your own fans start chanting We're going to have a party when Pardew gets the sack there is no coming back from that, he's not going to win back those supporters, their numbers are just going to continue to grow. I spent an awful lot of the last couple of seasons being really wound up and mad with it all. The end of the season just finished, I actually suckered myself into thinking something would change. But no, silly old me for thinking that. Reading through those meeting notes and I personally felt nothing at all. I have given the club 31 years loyal service and the majority of it has been crap to be fair, but there was always a little glimmer of hope somewhere that something might just happen (never did mind!). It felt important to me and was something I always looked forward too. Going to games, travelling to away games, it was always special. But as of this summer I can't say I support Newcastle United. There is just no feeling there at all, not even anger anymore. It's a joke of a club owned by an absolute cunt, who has surrounded himself with like minded cunts. Football is the last thing on there list of priorities, as long as they are making their profits they are happy. I'm not even interested in tuning into the TV or radio for matches either. Independent research into the cost of relegation over the past ten years showed there is a 50% chance of not gaining promotion back to the top flight and a 30% chance of being relegated to League One or further.
