LoveItIfWeBeatU
Not that we ever get any these days but if we were awarded a penalty who would take it? Ameobi seemed to be the one who took them since Shearer retired but he's out for the season now so who's next in line? Solano has been known to take them. Dyer has also taken a couple. We haven't really got anyone who can blast the ball (and keep it on target) anymore apart from maybe N'Zogbia. Who do you think it should be?

stozo
Solano will take the penalties.
Mr. Snrub
Nobby Solano definitely.
Shearer9
I don't know why Shola ever got to take penalties, he was lucky not to miss the ones he took.
James
Solano was first up for vs Watford iirc, and he took a few when Shearer has been injured also iirc so it'll be him.
Nobby
who would take the pen if nobby was on the bench?
stozo
who would take the pen if nobby was on the bench? I imagine Emre or Martins.
Mr. Snrub
I remember one match I went over for though, Solano missed a penalty in the last few minutes and we lost 2-1 at home to Boro. :wullie:
JH
I have a feeling it'd be Martins since he's the main striker and is also desperate for a goal.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
We have quite a few free kick 'specialists' in N'Zogbia, Solano, Emre, Milner and (cough) Luque. Being good at free kicks doesn't always seem to translate into taking good penalties though for some reason. I've never seen Martins hit a dead ball so it's hard to say how good he is at it. Emre hasn't scored for a year and his set pieces are woeful IMO, he rarely get the ball past the first man!
Gallowgate End
If Obafemi Martins has anything about him then he will step up for our penalty's
LoveItIfWeBeatU
I don't disagree with you. The fact that Emre keeps getting to take most of the free kicks makes you think nobody else has the authority to say "you've had your chance, it's my turn now". Dr Spectrum
Sibierski took the odd penalty for City. Only recall him missing one (Shootout vs. Doncaster) but he was decent enough at it.
Willow
Martins should take the penalties I feel, hes our main striker and needs the goals at the moment. I wouldn't even be too bothered if he missed a couple as long as hes got the bottle to take them
Guest slimbob
Got to be nobby or perhaps martins, prefer anyone to shola, i shit myself every time he steps up

Jaehyun
At the moment we're like a High School team, everyone puts their hands up and says "Can I take it? Can I take it?" But I say the best penalty takers we have is probably solano and Luque, yes I know you don't like Luque, but he has a calm experienced head who can slot the ball into the side of the goal. I also think that Martins should take the penalties to build up his goal-scoring confidence.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
Got to be nobby or perhaps martins, prefer anyone to shola, i shit myself every time he steps up It's true the crowd do tend to shit themselves when Shola steps up to take a penalty but I'm pretty sure he's scored all the one's he's taken during the normal 90 minutes (I'm not sure about shoot outs though). Well done Martins. Looks like my thread turned out to be a lucky omen "Not that we ever get any these days but if we were awarded a penalty who would take it"! Wullie
I'm always pretty confident when Shola steps up personally. Think he missed one in a friendly a couple of years back, but he's been pretty clinical when it's mattered. Couldn't believe it when Martins was shaping to hit it on his right foot, fair play though, he tucked it away.

madras
good sign from martins, fighting nobby for the pen,he could have ducked out but wanted the responsibilty, good for him,who knows what he'd be like had he missed.
Guest niina
For me, the penalty taker should be Obafemi Martins, as he is our new number 9. Will lift his confidence and motivation
