Departure:

For Fac's sake....

Serie A side Genoa confirmed on Monday evening that they'd completed the loan signing of an Argentinean named Facundo - but it's not our Magpie misfit.

Facundo Ferreyra was predicted to make a temporary switch to Genoa after returning from Newcastle to parent club Shakhtar Donetsk, but Spartak Moscow midfielder Facundo Costa has now completed his move.

If Italian media outlets are to be believed, Ferreyra is still expected at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris this month to complete a trio of Argentinean-born loanees (defender Facundo Roncaglia came from Fiorentina last year).

With Ferreyra and Shakhtar both apparently willing, the Genoa press claim that delays in completion have been caused by the managerial vacancy at SJP.

Quite why that would be the case is uncertain though, given the lack of input from that position in recruitment terms - highlighted when Ferreyra made an unexpected entrance during our pre-season in Germany.

Seriously though, what's the deal with this kid? 23 and has scored goals at all levels he's played at but can't get near our first team...

it's really blatantly an agent sweetener deal. Coincidence that he might actually be good.

Even so, surely he's worth a go on the bench at least? Just seems strange. Perhaps not a coincidence that the move happened in the midst of the issues with the Ukraine and Russia?

Maybe. I doubt it was us being charitable. Agent we work with maybe just asked us to take him to stop him getting killed since he has a high value in exchange for a deal in the future.

Listed as having a family agent so maybe not.

Obviously wasn't here to play.

Just fucking leave him in the squad until the summer. I love that these loan deals are just being thrown about, cancelled etc on the whim of Lee Charnley or some shit caretaker manager.

If this guy gives Chucky a chance I'll actually be impressed by that.

I want to see the guy get some game time. He's a highly rates striker for goodness sake.

Surely he must be better than Riviere?

Well he was firing them in for the reserves/under 21s, and so he should have been rewarded with some time on the pitch to show what he could do.
