If its just a slight design etched into the black strip, almost like a texture, a bit like this, i'd be alright with it:

But please god, nothing like Inter kits of the last 10 years :anguish:

Northumbrian tartan I heard. Durham Mags absolutely and correctly mudded.

The oldest tartan in the world, and one of the reasons why the club picked Black & White as colours I believe.

I don't mind if we wear white socks once a while but not permanently.

One thing I confirmed to hate tonight is when the home shirt is white with black stripes instead of vice versa. We should always have black shirt with white stripes. Some of our players had the white base layer tonight and it looked odd and bad for me.

Noticed the base layer on tino, do they not offer long sleeves for the players either as looks daft.?

also seen so much of the trefoil stuff, begrudgingly looked mint, I’ve missed the boat as was away all weekend.

This was in the club shop tonight, perhaps teasing the 96 rerelease with the old font?

Was always on the cards, presumably the reason this season's home kit was a tribute to the early 00s design rather than the grandfather collar one.

Am I missing something there or does the scoop begin and end at "there will be a unique twist"?

I mean can no one read  it says it in the article

The 2025-2026 Adidas Newcastle United FC jersey features the classic black and white stripes, but with a unique plaid pattern that sets it apart.

Just found this article about the disappearance of long sleeve shirts.

https://www.cultkits.com/blogs/news/the-rise-of-base-layers-and-the-disappearance-of-the-long-sleeved-shirt

Suggests it can be contractual, but also that wearing an under shirt is better than long sleeve shirts for a number of reasons.

But Manchester United players still seem to have the option of long sleeve matchday shirts, so maybe its just part of what clubs players want/prefer?

Why would adidas remake an Umbro kit

Last season Chelsea’s Nike home shirt was homage to their Umbro one from the late 90s.

The England one at Euro 2020 was homage to the Umbro 1998 one.

I’ll take your word for it. Still very unlikely when they have a number of adidas shirts they could remake. Also the ‘plaid pattern’ makes it sound like it’ll be a new unique shirt
