Needs to be red to stand out

Not for me! I have protanopia (a form of colour deficiency) where red appears very dull & essentially unreadable on black stripes.

Obviously I appreciate this is a fairly niche problem but it affects between 1-5% of the population so that's between 500 and 2500 people per home game.

Decent top.

But always hatedr.jpg.7c39b1acfd9b4b08b3bed0fe30e49823.jpgnames & numbers on back - Red should be kept to an absolute minimum in my opinion.

Much prefer they be done in Black & White or do them in something like Tyne bridge green (current condition not withstanding).

Might as well just have it black if you pick that colour.

Could you imagine the Sports washing accusations we’d get.

I don’t like the red either. Just a shite colour.

Yeah, they’re just excited about their club for a change. No need to be mean and call them thickos ffs .

That kid who preferred FUN88 on the front is a bit suspect though.

Also very happy with my decision to order a nice eBay CL patch.

I know it’s annoying that Castore aren’t doing printing etc right now, but bearing in mind their historical ineptitude at such things, I reckon it’s the right business decision, for us to have any chance of getting my shirt this year.

So it serves two purposes :coolsmiley:

They can accuse us, and we can wind them up by saying it's the colour of the Tyne bridge, which it is.

And at the same time, it puts a smile on the owners faces.

Win-Win.

Without Red we have a box on the back. Plus, it’s a good hark back to our history.

Boxes can be done tastefully.

What history do we have with red in the past century?

Are you talking about East End & West End?

This is my history tbh.

Red was quite common on our shirts until the Premier League came along.

Not that it necessarily means much in the context of the club but red, black and white are the civic colours of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Fair enough, personal taste I suppose. But for obvious reasons, I have a disdain for it in football :mike:
