Juve had this pink one a few seasons ago and it’s probably the nicest “modern” strip I’ve seen in a long time.

Yessssss had a snide of this with 6 Khedira that I got in Phuket. About a decade’s service before the badge fell off.

Classic Football Shirts are notorious for doing that, legit old shirt but then "post production" printing. Glad I discovered that before I dropped a few quid on some of ours and old England tops

I bought our Ajax style Telewest Broadband away shirt from them once. The felt sponsor came off in the wash straight away, absolute no chance it was authentic. My mam used to wash my shirts from that era in all sorts of cycles and they usually held up well.

Has anyone got a 95 away with original printing from club shop on it? I looked at mine and the numbers are plastic (like remake club shop ones are now) but as far as I remember the numbers back then were a felt material? 20250105_185203.thumb.jpg.6f8e10729bbf400ab97a44615d30dc1b.jpg

Print is fine, had this for over 20 years, was multiple versions of the nameset

The 'R' is a different shape too. Not sure where you got it but that's not legit at all mate, sorry. The shirt might be legit but the printing definitely isn't

No yours is wrong unfortunately, this is a picture of a matchworn shirt:20250105_203805.thumb.jpg.57658acb92879fa0e5f0ad7d8d29b24a.jpg

They obviously had different ways of doing the letters and numbers mate

Absolutely got mine from the club shop on day one and that's what they put on the back.

What was the deal with "Adidas" logo inside the numbers?

At first I thought that was a decent way to spot real/fake as it seems like in game it was never there, and for the replica kits... Well I haven't really looked into this thoroughly but seems just random.

I have an original Shearer home one bought back in the day in 96 and the number nine doesn't have Adidas inside it for example.

I’m pretty sure the original runs has the adidas logo in the numbers but they got swapped out later.

Maybe exclusive to the felt style?

I had Albert on my home and Ginola on my away, both had the adidas logo in the numbers.

They obviously changed the printing spec at some point 👍

Yeah I have the Shearer one of that from a year later and it does my head in that it annoyed me that it's not 'right' despite being from the club shop.

popular names like SHEARER/FERDINAND came pre-made ready to press, rather than being made up with individual letters. not sure how long that was a thing, or if it was in every shop... but I vividly remember seeing the namesets made up and ready to go in the Eldon Square shop. would explain the spacing as that's impossible to do with individual letters obviously.

I thought there would be some consistency between shops and different months etc but clearly not

Then again it's 1995, it's 30 fucking years ago ffs. Bet it was just all over the shop back then, just 'whatever - print the cunt'

None of the very first lot on the home kits were pre-made.

My Albert was in separate letters, for example.

I remember at one point it being so hard (or maybe expensive) to get printing that I just took a shirt to a random sports shop and they did basic black felt letters and number on the back

Had a Germany Klinsmann shirt (my favourite player at the time for some reason) printed completely wrong like that.

It was my first shirt back in the day & I had Lee 7 (my favourite player) on the back. Still my all-time favourite shirt and always will be

I was going to buy a fake version of the 95/96 grandad collar shirt last year, but then saw the quality/fit of them and decided against it. Found this a while ago as I was doing a bit of research on the 95/96 numbers to print on them.

I also found this site that claims to have the old style felt style numbers like back in the day. haven’t purchased from them so I don’t know how good or legit they are.

Away 95/96 numbers

If anyone’s brave enough to buy a set and put them on the new reissued 95/96 grandad shirt please post a picture I’d love to see how it all looks.
