Fak Posted Friday at 22:48 Share Posted Friday at 22:48 (edited) Don’t have any photos of it before I applied the paste but this is it after I had managed to whiten it. Photos doesn’t do it justice as it actually ended up a lot whiter than the stripes on the body of the shirt. Youre messing with quite a bit of peroxide by combining the three ingredients I mentioned above, I went overkill as the collar was like SSNs breaking news ticker. All I can say is if you’re going to follow the above method then take it easy to start and gradually increase it. @MidfieldGeneral @Harry 209 Edited Friday at 22:48 by Fak

CFS will probably be whacking a nameset on that as we speak....

I’ve been refreshing the website to see how much they’re listing it for but it’s not gone on sale yet! tbh you can get stain remover specifically designed for whites with a built in brush at the end of the tube and depending on how light your stain is I’d probably go with that to begin with? Had it in my basket, debated whether it's worth £350 (it is), now sold out. Where's the toaster. If you had told Swanny in the late 90s that his baccy stained, hot rock singed, Lambrini soaked jumper that he wore when he fingered Melissa in the cut behind the houses would sell for £350, or about half the price of a used Corsa, I wonder what he'd have said. Geordie_once_removed Posted Friday at 23:52 Share Posted Friday at 23:52 I just checked in here to see if there was any news of a re-release of the 1995/96 away shirt like there was of the home shirt. I didn't expect to be taken to such a deep cut of the Good Housekeeping forum on how to get stains out of white shirts. Equally I feel like I'm reading an section of American Psycho (the book) that was edited out.

Big River Posted yesterday at 01:49 Share Posted yesterday at 01:49 why are classic football shirts whacking snide namesets on original shirts?? that seems like a mental decision considering their target market

There is an idea of Newcastle-Online, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real N-O, only an entity, something illusory, and though the posters can hide their cold gaze and you can shake our hands and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: smoke stained Newcastle United collars from 1995 to 1997 are simply not there. Stifler Posted yesterday at 04:38 Share Posted yesterday at 04:38 2 hours ago, Big River said: why are classic football shirts whacking snide namesets on original shirts?? that seems like a mental decision considering their target market They sell a lot of fakes, they have done in the past. I’m not convinced by the majority of what they sell.

Thorpinho
With the old shirts, is there any where (in Newcastle ideally) that authenticates them? I have a home shirt and ball signed by the squad from the early 90s with the Mckewans lager sponsor. I don’t ever intend on selling it, but wondered if some kind of authentication would be worthwhile or not.

I've bought a few things from them expecting them to be decent quality and they've been shite. Genuinely thought I was paying for 'real' stuff. I just use DH Gate now - most of the time it's better and a hell of a lot cheaper.
Fak
Think I’m just going to send the shirt back and buy the remake top and use the Asprilla 11 nameset I got from footballicons.uk, if the best I can get is an authentic shirt with a third-party nameset then at least I’ll be doing it at a fraction of the price of what CFS are offering. Will still have the £150 gift voucher for CFS so will see if any decent non-NUFC related gear pops up in the future. Shame like, as I just assumed everything CFS sold was genuine. Didn’t realise they’d had a bit of a shoddy rep.
Yorkie
Seems the whole bloody game is just rife with chancers. DHGate are the only honest ones out there. Shame about the (alleged) gangs and slavery.

Shame about the (alleged) gangs and slavery. Was having this conversation with a collector friend a few days ago (I deal almost exclusively in match worn/issued home Newcastle shirts) As soon as money can be made from any kind of collecting (which classic shirts now is) its fucked and the vultures circle. It even extends to the club and the ridiculous prices they have been charging for the shirts in their memorabilia section (Dont get me started on matchwornshirt.com!!). It prices out the true collectors who do it for the love and replaces it with people doing it for status and a false impression that its an investment. Yorkie
Couldn't agree more. I'm quite happy with my occasional* legit randoms I get off Vinted now. I know no one is doing snides of Torino 19/20 away so it'll be genuine, and it's a lovely shirt for £15. *
Fak
@Harry 209 - looks like CFS do admit to it not being the authentic lettering, but they're quite cute with their wording as to whether the namesets are legit or third party. Example 1 here That's definitely the original nameset and numbers from the 90s (I know the players didnt play with the adidas logo on), they list the name and numbers as "Official adidas felt print" Same with the more modern, stuff like this Wilson one here. Again listed as "official" printing. But the third party namesets that aren't the originals are listed as, "original style". pedro111
I love my DH gate stuff. Currently wearing my long sleeve Ginola 96 away shirt while tending to the baby and I don't have to worry about it getting wrecked! Perfect for the cold winters days too. I see - that's a bit more acceptable but they really should say 'reproduction print' so there can be no confusion. You'd have to have a bit of know-how to identify that as it stands.
