Footballers should start specifying in their contract the maximum number of games they can play per year throughout all competitions, say 50 for example, then it's on the club to decide what games they want that player to play in. Interesting, but I could see that becoming pretty perverse. An Mbappe would eventually negotiate the number down to 1 with subsequent matches being subject to additional negotiation.
