FIFA coming up with bigger loads of absolute bollocks every day, I can't wait to see what they'll unveil next week

Honestly, of everything that’s been going on in the run-up to this Wprld Cup, I’ve probably got the least problems with this idea. At least they’re not having the players come out to individual introductions à la the World Club Championship.

Apparently the photoshoot being attacked for being 'chauvinistic', 'exclusionary', 'toxic' and 'boyish'. This is on top of complaints about their kit being 'hyper-masculine and right-wing extremist', due to the the shirts having rune-like writing on the back, described as 'unfortunate and typical of neo-Nazi and fascist symbolic language'.

... what a load of old guff :D

He definitely looks like someone who landed on the coast of Northumbria, twokked some loot, set a few monks ahad and forced himself on my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-granny

Not really sure which thread to post this in, but I'm watching the 2022 final and noticed that right before the ball crossed the line (when Messi scored in extra time, you can see the ball here to the left of Lloris) one of the subs Argentine subs was on the pitch. Is there a law of the game that VAR should have disallowed that goal?

Only if the encroaching players are deemed to be interfering with play

I've also been seeing that there's some resentment to FIFA and it's ticket pricing, half of me hopes it will be well attended, and half of me hopes no fucker turns up.

On TV rights, they FIFA wanted $330m for the China TV rights, China TV said 'No', as the games will be on from midnight til 06:00, then FIFA came back and asked for $150, China said no, then went back to FIFA as said $60m - FIFA said Yes.

Imagine it gets to 29 minutes without a lightning strike and then BAM! Another lightning strike. Clock resets for another 30 minutes.

I went to a Copa America semi-final in Chicago in 2016 (Chile-Colombia) and this happened. Game must've stopped for almost an hour at half time, we thought it was going to get cancelled but eventually did restart with an absolutely soaked pitch. It was quite chaotic, people left and we moved around to some prime seats.
