I mean they're a part of our history where we helped defeat fascism. Not really sure it's that big a deal. The French national anthem is about unsure blood being spilled on the mother land and it's considered one fk the best national anthems

People go on ridiculous both ways imo. There is some absolute shite sung by England fans but The Great Escape isn't one like

Nearly every countries anthem is about a war or liberation from some other country but a national anthem isn't the same as the Great Escape and if you think its for any other reason than to antagonise Germans and jingoism you're kidding yourself. Such a great number its never caught on with a single other fanbase anywhere despite being performed at England games for 30years

England Supporters Travel Club tickets were about $35, fair few just doing the friendlies alongside a holiday to get their points with an eye on the Euros and not bothering with the WC

Thought it would've been a lot dearer.

Last euros rice looked so uncomfortable in the holding role think he plays better in advance of Anderson. O'Reilly could be an option as an 8 aswell.

My preferred team would be a little rogue tbh, I'd have Tino left back, Rice & O'Reilly in midfield with Rogers ahead of them. Any of the combinations is pretty strong though - it's the wide areas where I think we're lacking a bit of quality, Gordon, Rashford and Madueke aren't really at the top level, and Saka has been poor for some time.

It's literally just a song mate it's nowt to do with baiting the Germans the Great Escape. Doubt the Germans even give a shit about it what so ever. The only word in it is literally "England".

I get it's from the war but as you've said so are most national anthems.

2800 professional footballers eligible to play for England and we still look to put square pegs in round holes

That's not right though is it?

We've spend decades taking "golden generations" to tournaments and won jack shit.

Squads and teams win tournaments not individuals. Whether it's the squad I'd have picked is irrelevant. He's an international manager and I'm Joe Blogg without any coaching badges. The proof will be in the pudding. I'm not sure there's much basis to criticise him presently.

I'm similar, and while I get why Hall isn't in the squad I'd have had him in as a pure LB, as you can then play Bellingham as the nominal left winger (gets him in the team, keeps him out the way, leaves him to float and get in the box, I.e. what he's good at) and then use O'Reilly in midfield to cover so the CB doesn't have to, the "Joelinton role" if you will.
