Really useful poll on metro.co.uk

Sums up the internet, really. Everything is either amazing or terrible, everyone is either a hero or a t***. Always the extremes.

I like how if the person answering hasnt heard of him its a bad signing.  Logic win.

 And people who have heard of him need to think he's incredible.

;D

Been watching a video of his that got posted the other day " Aleksandar Mitrovic - The NEW Newcastle transfer |Skills & Goals||Anderlecht| 2014/2015"

Shows a lot more of his general play than the "ScoutNation" video does, he's a lot better with the ball at his feet than i thought.

Appears to lack pace but I think pace tends to be slightly overrated anyway, it's an asset but not the be-all and end-all. What he lacks in pace he (hopefully) makes up for with strength, bravery and intelligence of movement.

Just watched that video. There is some calamitous defending on display but he looks the business. Hope this is actually done.

Aye some of those goals just don't happen in England or any other major league really, but i was surprised by his overall play considering everything i have read implied that he's 6 ft 2 Cisse.

I don't know how we would fit them into the team but a Mitrovic/Perez front two sounds

All things considered, De Jong is an injury waiting to happen and Cabella is out 6-8 weeks we'll probably see that quite often.

I have a suspicion the fashionable 4-4-2 diamond may make an appearance considering even tho it won't happen the club are still saying they want Austin too. I think 2 up top and de jong behind may be the plan. Puts a lot of faith in Janmaat and whichever left back mcclaren prefers to provide width tho.

If we don't get a winger it makes a lot of sense and unlike with Pardew and his shitty "backroom staff" i actually trust McClaren and his to actually coach them to do it properly.

Considering how well Perez played last season in a support striker role, running the channels well, chasing everything, I think the idea of a Mitrovic/Perez partnership would be a terrific one. Kind of a 4-4-1-1 thing.
