Yorkie
You can't critique the logic of outgoings when the manager was lied to/not allowed to bring in his own replacements. Besides, Rondon looks a good player.
Guest
How much is it going to cost to sign someone as good and with the potential to grow as what Mitrovic has? £30-40m? Said it before and I’ll say it again, we should have been able to adapt our game slightly to play to his strengths. Games like Brighton at home this season I don’t think our style would have needed to have changed too much, we put plenty of balls in the box but had no one there. He’d have caused their centre-backs a bit more of a headache too, it was probably as easy a game as Dunk & Duffy will have this season. I really like Rondon but I don’t think he’s any better than Mitrovic.

sbnufc
No goals in 8 games, shite Scores 2 with new manager bounce against the worst form team in the league, best player ever
The College Dropout
Looks a massive mistake. Simple. Same with Mbabu. Same with Milner. There was something big in there and the manager sold it rather than dig it out. Mbabu’s probably a 10m fullback. Mitro is probably a 12-20 goal PL player. That’s a £30m player at least. We can’t afford that. It was a bad deal.

Guest neesy111
He's happier that he left NUFC, it just didn't work out. Happens with lots of players and clubs where the circumstances etc stop a player achieving their 100% during their stint at the club.
Guest
Unless people think he’s a 30-35 goal a season striker, he’s going to go runs of games without goals like.
The College Dropout
But why? If we are to punch above our weight we need to get young players with potential and realise it. Anyway, Ashley.
triggs
Unless people think he’s a 30-35 goal a season striker, he’s going to go runs of games without goals like. 7 games though, playing 90 minutes in all those games. Did Gayle or Joselu even do that last season? Mitro is clearly a good player but this reaction to a very good performance when he hasn't scored in 7 games is a bit mad IMO
Guest
We’ll forget the 5 in 5 games before that. Shearer went runs without goals, Lukaku hasn’t scored in a while but he’s still a top striker, Firmino’s just scored his first in 8 league games... Aye, players can go on goalless runs but when Lukaku does score again its not like he’s going to get praised for it
The College Dropout
Triggs, point is - unless you’re going to score mid 20’s and up you’ll go through lean spells. His goals to minutes ratio is almost identical to Harry Kane’s and better than Wilson’s. No penalties iirc? It’s 7 in 13. He’s 24. The indicators are bad. The College Dropout
Even if he averages 1 in 3 - which he was close too in his 1 season in the PL with us I think it could only be considered poor business.

I know Mitrovic is a good player. However his fans have barely commented here while he’s gone 7 games without scoring and now he has a good game and all of a sudden he’s brilliant again and its a massive mistake by Rafa
Keggy_Keagal
Why does the Mitrovic debate persist ? Sometimes a move just doesn't work, and sometimes the fresh start turns a player around. Look at Jon Dahl Tomasson here and then at Feyenoord/Milan or Torres and his career prior to his move to Chelsea.

PartizanFC
Probably most of you didnt watched all that goaless games but i am He plays same...same like when he scored 5 in 7th matches...or in last 2 months without goal..He fight, jump, still good targetman...but with 1 big difference... In last game he had good service...1 player was always close to him...he wasnt isolated... Last 2 months you can count on fingers chances squad made for him... Shearergol
Glen Murray. Will Palace fans be saying the same? Well he’s better than Benteke, so they should be. I suppose our problem is the only striker currently at the club that we own is Joselu. Sign a decent striker and the Mitro debate stops.
Amir_9
I'm not overly fussed by this, Rondon seems like hes the perfect physical presence that Rafa requires up top Mitrovic was pants for us. You can argue all the reasons in the world, for the amount of games he played for us and the return that was provided from him, it was more than warranted to sell. The College Dropout
Glen Murray. Will Palace fans be saying the same? Yes. Murray was a great player for Palace. The season after he did his ACL he scored something like 7 in 19. They let him go the following season. But there’s more to the Benteke thing. Prior to last season he was close to a 1 in 2 player. He had scored close to 80 goals in 5 seasons in England. There’s a good player there somewhere.
