Portland Timbers 4 - 3 Newcastle United (Game link in OP)

Mind it's the B team.

I love how the club haven't actually mentioned its the PT reserve team facing us.

 Playing in the third tier of the US system, no less. Next frontier: high school teams. Howay Baltimore Poly Engineers.

Don't get the point in going to America to play third division teams. Fair enough if it's an MLS side that is televised and gets exposure for the club over there, but what's the point in travelling half way around the world to play the equivalent of a Conference side and only having it streamed on their YouTube channel? May as well have stayed here and played League One / League Two teams.

Hope Gouffran, Obertan and Williamson all get game time so we can see what they're like

Be nice to see Colback bossing the midfield in the captain's role too

Its more the training camp/bonding stuff though isnt it. SMc will want to spend as much time as possible with the whole squad and this is the best way to do so rather than have them going home each day. Obviously the rubbish quality of opponent is largely due to the club not making any plans at all but that will be the reason.

Really hope he changes it around this game, can't be watching those useless knackers running around like the keystone cops again. Surely there isn't that much of a difference in fitness between our decent players and our cunt players.

I hope the 4 of them are all nearby when that chainsaw weilding maniac realises what has become of his life and flips out.

Doubt we would notice a difference in Williamson if he was mangled bits in a coffin pitched up on the end of our box.

Portland Timbers? Sounds like a team of fat blokes on Discovery channel running in to problems bringing down all trees before deadline because the biggest truck in the world is stuck on a bridge blocking everything.
