Sho Time
Aye, it was a very daft and short-term view for his career. Maybe he wanted to be back in London but who knows, and who cares? Cracking player but with Ritchie here we don't miss him.
Kanj
Yep - and he wasn't exactly raging or anything. He was slightly more emotional and less calmer than he is, but it was hardly embarrassing conduct by him. As you said, he was standing up to the likes of Fergie and the FA which shows what a strong personality he is. some vein as Keegan having a go at Ferguson too imo, although in a much more calm delivery. Regarding Townsend, absolutley spot on by few on here above, what a short-sighted poor decision for him, but give me a Matt Ritchie over Townsend any day of the week in terms of his commitment, leadership, and delivery of the ball. Yorkie
Townsend and Ritchie would have been delightful. Constantly switching wings and causing absolute mayhem. Wouldn't have happened in any scenario, like, but ye no. Am quite excited to see us spend in January mind. If we're in the top 2 and need someone to make absolutely sure - another Routledge-esque signing - that'd be pretty exciting. Knockaert mebs.
Kanj
Or maybe we push forward a summer signing in January?
Pilko
I reckon January we'll get one quality addition and maybe a loan or two as cover if we've got any injuries. Think it'll be relatively low key.
Budgie Smuggler
There was absolutely nothing wrong with his "meltdown". The FA may not have agreed but he only said what every football fan up and down the country were thinking.
Guest dabe
Love how years after the fact it's eulogised as one of the big Premier League moments in history, didn't think much of it at the time but I suppose Sky has to drum up interest somehow. Guest firetotheworks
My best mate's girlfriend works at the Hilton and dry cleans his suit every week, among others. I've requested that a photo of me is put in his top left breast pocket, that way I'll always be close to his heart.
Wallsendmag
I never really felt attached to Townsend, barely gave him a second thought since we were confirmed relegated. Same with Sissoko really, always expected them to be gone. Yes on some levels it's a bad decision, but then again footballers would say their career is short and they have to squeeze the very most out of it. Which makes signing for Alan Pardew, with his track record of ruining offensive players, even more baffling.
Robster
There was absolutely nothing wrong with his "meltdown". The FA may not have agreed but he only said what every football fan up and down the country were thinking. It was annoying because everyone realised that Ferguson had got to him with his mind games and was probably pissing himself laughing.
Darth Crooks
Ferguson was a fantastic manager who was also a nasty cunt. Hate the 'mind games' bullshit. He was a success because he was the best at what he did not because he was also some beetroot derren brown.
joeyt
COME ON TOONS!!! http://www.rafabenitez.com/web/es/hoy-destacamos/reconocimiento-al-trabajo-del-grupo/202/

louistoon
I don't really care, but really can't help but feel that Townsend is such an absolute tool for leaving us under Rafa to go and play for f***ing Pardew and Crystal Palace. I'm actually quite glad that he did, as it brought us Ritchie who I would say is about on par with him as a player, but you have to be incredibly thick to do something like that. Sorry like but what have you seen of Ritchie that suggests he is as good as Townsend? Hasn't even bloody scored yet except for his pen. I do worry people expecting us to get promotion and then automatically finish in the top half of the table are massively underestimating the size of the job here and are setting themselves up for a lot of dissapointment

Guest reefatoon
It's not odd at all. It's much better than just throwing them straight in. He is giving then time to settle and get used to his ways and methods, he then puts them in when he feels the time is right. So not odd at all, just you getting impatient and over excited. Just relax and you will see them in time.

shintonsghost
I find it a bit odd how he is reluctant to play new signings. We need to give Lazaar a chance soon. Rafa wants no big time Charlies, hes got them on their toes and you can see it. No dissent, just a squad of togetherness and hard workers will get us out of this. Rafas methods i trust, drip feed into the team, if they want it enough they will then perform. Love it me
