TheInfiniteOdyssey
I'm a pretty cynical guy, but I even thought by now we'd have a couple of players in. What's more worrying is the lack of concrete links to players, have we even bid for anyone this window?
Ashley17
Concrete links? This Lejeune character has been set to sign for about a month according to just about everyone. Even his current club aren't expecting him back
morla84
Tammy Abraham was just about to sign until Charners took him on a mad one in The Mushroom and necked 25 jagerbombs

Dave
If there isn't some serious movement within the next week then I would expect Rafa to walk pretty soon after. Don't be daft. I think he'll be pretty disappointed we've not moved forward prior to pre-season starting but he's not just going to sack it all off that quickly. The problem with transfers under Ashley is it feels like we're always at some disadvantage, whether it's pretending we've no money (meaning clubs know when we're desperate), insisting on paying for players up front (meaning we expect a better deal and can blame cash flow problems if it doesn't work), openly admitting to buying low and selling high (meaning clubs probably get sick of losing out) etc etc. All ideas under a dickhead that's thinks he's being clever. Even this time around, Ashley being quoted saying Rafa could have every penny meaning other clubs expect us to be loaded when they apparently want to play tight bastards again. And those other clubs know we're a newly promoted side so need quality, but aren't the usual smaller club on a modest budget. Add all that to the lack of experience and stature of the MD and it's probably no surprise we've done fuck all so far. I'm frustrated but it'll be fine. Hopefully. I wonder how much truth is actually in that - it's difficult to accept that Abraham (regardless of what you perceive as his ability or character) would rather go to South Wales than us
mickthemagpie
Who do you believe though? It was first suggested that they wanted Abrahams to come to us to get used to playing in front of big crowds.

I've noticed his sniping for several months now. Aye, I know some people get really sensitive with journalists giving a bit of critisism, but over the years at times we have arguably deserved it But since we've been promoted hes done loads of negative articles regarding Newcaste, im pretty sure he said that Rafa was ready to walk not so long ago and because he took some stick from some fans on twitter he started biting, he seems to be getting worse. Seymour
That one's hardly a snipe though? It's not really no But plenty of teams apparantly wanted Sandro, but yet he mentions us? If this was his first time he had done it then I wouldnt have mentioned and just taken it as he was simply letting us know he was a target for Newcastle But when you look at the other articles he has a written about us and what he has said on twitter previously , it feels like another slight little dig

Guest ElCid
Everton are a better attraction than us. We have to realistic about the type of player we can attract. They (and I would probably say most of the premiership teams) are now thanks to the Ashley and his muppets as they certainly weren't before he bought the club.
