AyeDubbleYoo
Also he doesn't get penalties because he loves a dive.
The College Dropout
Gayle and Mitro would bag 20+ goals given a full season in the Championship. Or close to it. Wor Joselu? Nope. Nah. No. A dozen perhaps, most being headers. Although maybe with confidence he could do better. It's confidence that's gotten to Gayle this season. I reckon he could grab 12-15 goals with a back wind. But in the PL he won't get the opportunity.
AyeDubbleYoo
I think Joselu would get a decent amount in the Champ, maybe not 20. Like you say, Gayle has some PL potential. It just hasn't quite worked out for him yet.
Minhosa
We should get nearer £40m. .
Stottie
Plenty of go-down-soft players get given penalties. We don't get them for the same reason we never play against 10 men.
Kanji
Been given 1 penalty all season it’s beyond a joke. Gayle is also wank as fuck. I love his effort and commitment but by god we need an entire new striker line.
Guest
That "shot" on his left foot was embarrassing.
buzza
Gayle seems to get in the right positions and make chances for himself, just cannot finish. Striker and nº10 would transform this team.
Stottie
That "shot" on his left foot was embarrassing. Even on his good side, he doesn't seem to put his foot through the ball.
Newcastle Fan
i remember even though he was on fire last season we had the game at Hull in the cup who were a premier league side back then, he played 120 minutes and was a disaster, that was a good sign that we needed to replace him with someone better the minute we get up. Kanji
ah right, the hull cup match last year was the sign.

taxfree
Awful with the ball at his feet.
triggs
Need an upgrade definitely but hope it's someone that makes similar runs to him that we get. Even though his finishing has been terrible, a lot of our chances are coming from Shelvey picking him out

afar
Need an upgrade definitely but hope it's someone that makes similar runs to him that we get. Even though his finishing has been terrible, a lot of our chances are coming from Shelvey picking him out That is a very good point. Shelvey seems to instinctively know where Gayle will be, he needs him in the team to play at a level we need him to. With any new striker that comes in there will be a period to adapt if Shelvey is still the driving force behind our attacking play next season (I'm not convinced he will be). Nattfare
Sadly Gayle's technique lets him down a bit too. He needs too many touches to control the ball when Shelvey finds his runs.

Rich
Did they even replay that wanky left-footed effort? Looked like his first touch was decent.
Raconteur
Did they even replay that wanky left-footed effort? Looked like his first touch was decent. Was a superb touch to control it, real sublime-to-the-ridiculous stuff.
Guest
The shot was pathetic. The equivalent of backing out of a tackle or not tracking back and letting the full-back fly past you. Was just laziness.
AyeDubbleYoo
Perez hit an appalling one as well, he always fluffs it when he tries the placement... much better when he only has a second to hit it.
Rich
Imagine being 10th in the league with Gayle, Perez and Joselu as the three people who've spearheaded your attack all year. #BestLeagueInDaWorld I don't mind Gayle at all, to be honest. His movement is great but it's clear his confidence is absolutely shot and has been for some time.
AyeDubbleYoo
I like him as well, I do think he has potential to play in this league better than he is at the moment. If we’re clearing out strikers he’s probably the one I’d like to keep the most.
