Paullow Posted yesterday at 11:49 Share Posted yesterday at 11:49 I was debating going but didn't, half time at Ashington vs Heaton. Great crowd of 707. Currently 0-0 - wouldn't surprise me too much if this ended a draw...
Disco Posted yesterday at 12:57 Share Posted yesterday at 12:57 Stan take it 0-1 and secure their place in the league next season. Cup final v Morpeth to come and round off another memorable season.
Pilko Posted yesterday at 13:40 Share Posted yesterday at 13:40 Was at Ashington today for the Stan win, absolutely honking game of few chances but they saw it out well in the later stages. Great result.

Great result. Same here, was pretty shite. Good crowd there though and a decent following from the Stan. Well impressed with Ashington's facilities too. So pleased for them as it has been a massive step up, and they looked doomed at one point.

Yorkie
York City drop points and Barnet win so only a miracle means that'll be 2nd and 1st respectively. Will try and get to York's home semi... pity, as I would've very much liked to have rooted for Gateshead in the play-offs.
Paullow
Brighouse 2 Garforth 2 - means Ashington are staying up as well. Brighouse equalised in 90+1 against 10 men and there were 7 mins added, I was refreshing the NPL site for ages, but just finished a minute ago, so maybe had 10 mins injury time. If Brighouse had found a winner they would have been 2 points adrift with the bottom team to play on the final day and (out of form) Ashington would have likely had to have taken a point on the road, but they survive. Means there will definitely be 8 or 9 former Northern League sides in that league next year, depending on if Dunston or Newton Aycliffe get promoted in the playoffs. Dunston/Newton (or both), Blyth S, Bishop Auckland, Consett, Heaton, Ashington, Redcar, NL playoff winner. Those 3 deducted points came in very handy. 54
The National League South is genuinely insane. Going to have to go along to Truros final game on Saturday. Edit: Or not, it's all sold out already

Edit: Or not, it's all sold out already That is crazy. Worthing drop from 1st to 4th after a draw in GW45. Your boys are a home win away from the title, but if they lose (to someone who have to get something to stay up) then they could well not even have a play off semi spot, or not even a home playoff quarter final spot either. Not sure I've seen a league that tight at this stage.

Not sure I've seen a league that tight at this stage. It is ridiculous, I can't remember seeing a league that tight before, for Truro, even a win may not do it if Torquay batter Hemel Hempstead, who have nothing to play for and are on the beach, and I'm not sure if playing St Alban's is good or not, as they have to come out and try and play, given their situation, which could work to Truro's benefit. Either way, it's been a mammoth season for the club, it's the first season back in Truro in their new Stadium, and most projections had them mid-table at best, so to be in with a shot of winning the title is an outstanding achievement.
