The only thing you can say against Rafa imo is that he knew (or should have had an idea) what Ashley was all about before he decided to come here.

Probably, but more than likely he was sold a lie, considering the shithouse before him got £80m+ to spend.

He was defo sold a lie. No way Rafa came here to spend fuck all and scrap around the bottom of the table like a loser.

The press stories that summer were that he "demanded" Murphy and then later Joselu, were brought in.

Aye, he probably did, as they were the last options on his list and didn't want to go without! Like picking up that fat bird at 5am so you're not going home alone, hardly ideal.

The difference being that fat bird would more than likely be a dirty bitch and fantastic fuck. Joselu and Manquillo are not fit for purpose at all....unlike a fuck with a  fat bird

I seem to remember when we signed Manquillo he commented that it was a case of 'this is the best I can get for this money'

Rafa has form for buying some shite mind.

17.5m for Glenn Johnson has to be the worst though

What a strange example to bring up

So why buy Joselu?

Because he has no money, incompetent people above him and a football club can’t get by with 13 players.

That doesn’t answer the question, he was shite and we and all Stoke fans knew it, so why buy him irrespective of not getting his target.

Glen Johnson is a better right back than anything we've had in the last 10 years. Pretty sure Sir Bobby tried to sign him for us but lost out to Chelsea.

That's not exactly right. Their forum was split pretty evenly with quite a lot saying he should have been given a chance under Hughes. Not that it matters really because as it turns out he isn't good enough for the Premier League.

Well if the question is about one specific signing then it’s not a very interesting one to answer. The bigger picture is he was shopping in bargain corner and with very limited time. Who knows what the options even were?

Having to defend Rafa to NUFC fans is absolutely crazy by the way.
