Really hope we don’t go for Trafford.

I think he'll do well in a better team and is probably a good middle ground between Pope and Dubravka.

City's jettisoned kids are pretty much universally finding their feet eventually, and his pedigree within the England set up is as good as any of them.

I'm not sure it necessarily means we go for another keeper this month.  Although the Trafford links won't go away.  More that it is just the last chance to get a bit of money for him and gets him off the wage bill 6 months earlier.

Everyone on here has said we haven't been ruthless with sales and we don't have many saleable assets.  So the fact we can get something for him, however minimal and save whatever he is on a week for the next 6 months (I'm guessing circa £30-40k per week).  Then it makes perfect sense to do so.

Pope's kicking is a massive issue and it's been highlighted enough that everyone can see it now.

I suspect when you're working with players on a daily basis you will pick up on things differently than a supporter will, especially if you've been the one to sign said player.

Like thinking the sun shines out of your children's arses etc.

So potentially it's taken Howe this long for the penny to drop.

Same time, don't go thinking the sun shimes out of Dubravka's arse either - I mean he had no saves to make against Mand U and think he's only had 4 in as many games.

His clean sheets in December must add £3m to his value. Perfect timing to justify the fee to the Sky 6!

Sounds like the Saudi clubs is buying out his contract so can't believe we are talking about much. Wages will be the biggest factor off the books.

Agree he has looked good thanks to tonali and our reorganized backing.  Can't hurt other clubs looking at him.

Been a great servant for us though!

It's bizarre that he's having his best form for the club in years and undoubtedly contributed to our upturn in form (the improvement in possession/control in games has been pretty key) right at the point where he's going to leave.

I still think he's basically done as a PL keeper, and will undoubtedly return to dropping in clangers at some point, but it it does feel a weird departure point given the various other times it has seemed like he was out the door.

I do wonder if we're going to push for Trafford in January.

Either that or he’s told us he’s going end of the season regardless so this is our only chance to get some money back on him. We can’t say we’re crap at selling then complain about selling someone with only six months left.

He shining may have forced our hand

Why do they pay over the odds for other clubs players and bugger all for ours.

Is there a link saying this? I’ve just read a few articles on it and they’re am just very vague and seems nobody knows anything detailed yet.

Exclusive | Al-Shabab Club, a competitor in the Saudi Football League, has reached a final agreement with the English club Newcastle to purchase the remainder of goalkeeper Martin Dubravka’s contract during the current winter period, according to exclusive sources for Asharq Al-Awsat.

Seems mental to entertain this before end of window when Pope is out and he is having an impact.
