I think the problem is more that we have very little backup if Pope gets injured again.

Definitely true, backup GK is always a tricky thing though. You have to find someone who's cheap, doesn't want to play, and is also really good. Not an easy scouting mission.

TBH its one of the best jobs in sport though, right up there with backup QB in the NFL. There are some dudes who have made millions never touching the ball for NFL teams.

I don't recall the cup final loss being in any way attributable to Karius doing anything wrong, in fact I think he played fine?

Anyway he's still available on a free...

I would actually say that if Dubravka does stays, when Pope comes back it shouldn't be a certainty that he's automatically put back in, especially given how Popes form was quite poor before his injury.

Should we flog Pope, towards end of Jan if near as dammit fit, run with Dubs & Vlacho for the remainder of the season.

Dubravka has a handful of good games... Does nobody remember when he couldn't catch a cold last season when Pope was out?

Why not , good question that, not as good as Dubs with his feet, seems to be an element of risk between back 4 and Pope where they don't seem to trust him, they seemore comfortable with Dubs.

The recent run of wins has clouded a lot of fans judgement.  To say this brilliant form over the past 7 games is due to Dubravka being in goal is ludicrous. There are a lot of factors involved in our great run of wins and I will admit that Dubs being in goal has contributed.  However, I was shitting myself whenever a cross or corner came into our box whilst he's been in goal.
