triggs
Being reported in Argentina that Sampaoli will stay on with no decision making powers and that the team and tactics will be picked by the players
nemtizz
Well that's retarded. Just get rid of him if that's the case.
HaydnNUFC
Keep the manager, but he's not allowed to manage. What's the point of that
Guest neesy111
Someone does need to do media duties etc. Comes to something when an FA agrees to let players picks the tactics etc ahead of backing their coach. Shows how bad he's been.
Guest firetotheworks
Sampaoli's looked and sounded like a castrated man from the start of the World Cup tbh. He was interviewed as saying that Messi transcends managerial instructions before the first game. Even as someone who probably agrees with that in the main, you don't want your manager saying that, like. He just sounds like a proper pushover. Rich
Bad memory, but was it any different at the last World Cup? Felt like the players (Messi) were running the show then as well. EDIT: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/12026/9356463/world-cup-argentina-coach-alejandro-sabella-accepts-lionel-messi-criticism It wasn't much different. triggs
They had a decent defence 4 years ago
Guest neesy111
They certainly had a better team 4 years ago, it wasn't the best but as triggs says they could defend at least.

Kaizero
The WC with Jonas at right wing back and Maradona as manager will forever be my favourite Argentina.

Mole_Toonfan
Before this tournament they went 3 tournaments ( 1 WC and 2 copa Americas) without losing in normal time (lost in extra time, penalties) They maybe some structural similarities but in they didn't really look incapable of winning, which is the case in this tournament so far. Messi's essentially been keeping that team afloat since post WC 2010.

Mole_Toonfan
As crazy as Maradona was his team looked somewhat normal compared what we've seen from Argentina this tournament. Which is absolutely crazy in of itself.
