Biesla teams are the most predictable in the world at this, you can set your clock each season for when they are going to tire out and they hit the wall.

Same thing happened in Marseille when they blew the French title and with Bilbao when they lost those finals at the end of the season.  Guy is an amazing brain, but also an absolute mad man who will run his players into the ground.  Klopp was similar, but has learnt how manage a team over a full season.

Klopp hasn’t suddenly learned how to manage a team from burning out, he’s just able to keep his players energised longer because mentally, he had a team who are stronger than they are physically and is managing in a league where physically the demands and constraints are the same for everyone whether it’s the bottom team or the top team.

That wasn’t the case in Germany.

Leed’s problems under Biesla are more about a deficiency in technical ability than physicality. These are professional athletes, they burn the candle quicker in the mind than in their body and unless you’re technically able to play his style every game and have the right energy levels mentally to energise yourself week in week out, fit or not, you’re going to struggle. That’s why the likes of Ward-Prowse can run around full of energy for 38 games, but wouldn't be able to keep up at Liverpool and would look burnt out. It’s why Milner at his age stays strong despite not being as technically good as others.

Klopp can keep his players energised even more longer if they are technically able to keep up with things and have a strong mentality buying into his methods. The fact Leeds have done as well as they have under Biesla since he arrived suggests his methods work and its players adapting to him rather than him having to adapt his ways that is working the most.

He’s one of the best because he can do what he does with a Leeds. Could Mourinho, could Pep. Now give Biesla Barcelona. Give Rafa Leeds, give him Man Utd or Arsenal. Eventually they find a way, but only if the players fully adapt to him.
