Mike Ashley (former owner) (still alive)

Recommended Posts

So lets say he rejects the offer from the trillionaire, a couple billionaires and the lass.  I don't see how he can easily spin it.  When people see this and realise he will never sell there will be at least a couple hundred more season ticket cancellations.

He doesn't need to spin it. He can say any old shite again and a section of our supporters will believe it and trudge back into SJP for the next home game and then renew their season tickets.

I honestly cant see how he could reject it, if it's true obviously. But then again it is Mike Ashley.

Me neither.  I think it would be more likely he chose to sell to someone like Kenyon and keep his hooks in the club.

Plus he can trot out the 'odious Saudi regime' angle, and a fair few will go along with it.

Like many i suspect he wants his cake and eat it.

We should remember how deep his tentacles run into rangers football club , hes still in there now ffs ,  sucking a few million out of the club every now and then.

If anyone thinks the club will be sold as a clean break is sadly mistaken and i would suggest any potential buyers would be fools to accomodate him.

This is the reason i believe the club will never be sold and the reason i want him to die.

Nitpicking possibly, but surely if it’s down to Ashley wanting to sell, then there’s a disagreement with price? If there’s no disagreement on price then he sells.

Indeed.  He will be the man that blew a sale to the Man City owners, blew a deal with these new guys who will end up buying someone else and we will still keep going and grumbling on internet forums.

It would be a good early PR move for the Saudis to be honest. Even Amnesty International would let that one fly.

Not necessarily price/value but maybe continued sports direct advertising etc

He’s in the studio with Jim White, might have said something?

Has Jim White mentioned he understands the deal could be completed within 72 hours? Or is that patter kept for talkSport.

Whether or not things are happening, it feels like some people/news outlets are just saying whatever they can to keep generating clicks.

There's not really been anything of substance since the story broke. It's just a lot of opinions, ifs, buts and maybes.

Idk man, did you read that Martin Samuel article? He repeats the same question 8 times, pretty insightful stuff.

Pete Graves now acting the t*** that he has an update but doesn't want to write it in case it is mis interpreted.  Undoubtedly it will be nothing significant.

Pete Graves - the walking, talking haircut that claims reading the headlines and showing his pearly whites and proper journalism is the same thing.
