Oh - well in that case, he can be the DM that frees up Bruno to play more forward. We've been linked with Alvarez who is a pure DM so surely Joe can do it too

His game was off a bit, but he was still the one trying to mauovre the ball in tight tussles and bring the attack into play.

That can't be right like, Longstaff had the ball nicked off him by Rice twice and passed it straight to him 2 or 3 times as well. Re the bit in bold, % is more important here, no? Just from watching I'm pretty sure he had much more of the ball than Longstaff and Willock.

Rich
86 touches to Longstaff's 78 and Willock's 59. Still not sure he's gonna win the percentages there. Not saying he was bad by any stretch, but Longstaff was the star midfielder for me.

Longstaff 12, Willock 11. edit: fuck, we were really poor in duels today. West Ham murdered us there Edited February 4, 2023 by Smal

High Five o
Not based on stats, but i personally will say he is the most important CM we had today. Strong, good drive and really tried to take control of the midfield. I absolutely love him, his attitude and unreal strength in duels.

Sempiternal
6 more defensively minded CM/ 8 more attacking CM. Imho Edited February 4, 2023 by Sempiternal

Sempiternal
Just purely off numbers like. 7 rw/11 Lw/ 10 (self explanatory) as is the rest. Purely off numbers mind, I mean Bruno wears a 38.

Sempiternal
Haven’t checked his recovery stats I’d imagine they were good but I did feel he lost the ball a fair bit.

It was mainly trying to play deep lying play maker. He didn't have the long passing accuracy through the middle today. He did well enough but there isn't real leadership in the middle that comes from him, willock or longstaff. They don't give up but they don't generally dictate and lead from the middle. Guybrush
Everyone lost the ball a bit, but without his stamina and tenacity we would've been much worse off. Relatively speaking, he was still great.
Sempiternal
The clear thing is that Bruno basically combines all midfielder roles into one smiley little Brazilian package. Great at winning the ball back, can beat players 1v1, doesn’t panic on the ball, can assist, score. Joelinton is really good at the physical stuff, excellent athlete, but lacks the vision and composure of Bruno

Yeah agreed, purely as a ball winning mid he’s great, and very dominant
